What to do when you are sick?
So flu/cold season in officially here. For the past week and a half I have been terribly sick. It turns out that I have laringitis (sp?) and chronic bronchitis. I have to see a specialist so I have no idea how long all of this is going to last.
In the meantime, I can't exercise because I can't breath. I started out doing okay on my eating and drinking water but that has diminished. It hurts to swallow so there goes all of the water. Also I've felt so crummy I haven't wanted to cooked so guess what, take out, and comfort food. ![]()
So I was wanting to know if anyone had any tips on how to stay on track (or at least not gain) while you are sick.

Soup! :-) I've found that soup is such a comfort food when I have a cold, usually fills me up for dinner (especially if I have a cream of potato or something), and doesn't ruin my calories for the day. I hope you feel better!
Hot tea or just plain hot water helps the throat feel better plus you are keeping the liquids up. Soup or just broth doesn't hurt to swallow.
You will probably have to wait for the exercise. Just take care of yourself and get better soon!
Try soup with some hot spices( if your taste buds can tolerate it) like sprinkling some cayenne pepper or blak pepper. Dry ginger powder or juice from grated fresh ginger is amazing for sore throats. You can add it to your soup or plain tea. Make sure its hot enough to the level of your tolerance. Give it a try. Wish you quick recovery
Well, I'm indian, and whenever I was sick when I was younger, my mother would make me a spicy chicken curry. Now that I'm in my 20s, I make it myself, and it knocks the cold right out of me every single time. So if you've got a good indian place near you, try giving that a try.
I was recently sick with an ear infection, and since there were lymph nodes in my neck that were swollen, I couldn't chew at all.
I stuck to soup. I ate a lot of Campbell's low sodium condensed. It's warm and delicious. x] Campbell's is a definite comfort food for me.
There's also tea, as yaaqut mentioned before. Don't forget orange juice! It's full of vitamin C. :)
