sick... what do i do?

Simply put... I'm sick. I got sick 8 times last night (gross I know), stayed home from school (we had a 1/2 day anyway), but have only been able to want to eat 1 banana, 1 plum, and a few cups of mixed fruit and some Sprite 0. I mean, my sister was at her friend's house making cookies... and for a second I was going to ask if they could bring me one just to get my calories up... but then I realized I was grossed out by the thought of eating a cookie, chocolate, practically anything but fruit! How am I supposed to go about this day? So far it's 1:05 and I've eaten about 350 calories in fruit... and that was my lunch... there's no way I'm gonna eat 1,000 more calories for dinner... what do I do?

You're probably not going to get all of your calories in. Try drinking orange juice... there's like 140 calories in one 8oz glass. Eat soup for dinner. 
If it is just one day - don't sweat it.  Take it easy on yourself.  Get lots of rest.  Try to get some toast or crackers in later on.

However, you need to make sure you get enough clear liquids in so you don't get dehydrated.  Water is the best but sprite, 7up, gingerale are all good too.  Gator aid too.

I hope you are feeling better soon.
Take care of yourself, drink lots of clear liquids if you can hold them down.
And then start on bland, easy to digest solid foods.

Don't worry about calories, you are sick. Just get better.
OK thanks guys... yea I've been getting lots of rest... since I woke up about every hour during the middle of the night I just woke up from a 5 or 6 hour nap. lol... well thanks... I'll try to eat crackers and toast for dinner becasue I really don't think soup would be a good idea for my stomach right now. haha
I was extremely sick during my first pregnancy, threw up daily for 4 months, this is what I learned. When you are sick consult your craving genie, eat WHATEVER sound good and make everything count, no diet sodas try sprite, ginger ale, gatorade, hell cool aide if you can tolerate it. When I am sick I ignore calories especially if throwing up is involved, focus on getting in calories that calm your tummy and taking care of yourself. Worry about the scale later.
Don't worry about your calories - your poor stomach needs a rest!! :)  Being sick is not the same as when you are feeling well!! 

Make sure you get liquids and start with really easily digestible stuff like baking soda crackers and toast - clear broth soup etc.  Eat everything slowly or your stomach will just send it back up again!! 

Rest, rest then rest some more!!  I hope your back in business tomorrow!!

After my throat surgery, my tastebuds were screwed up as a side effect, and I didn't feel like eating much, anyway.  Don't stress about your calories today.  Just keep plenty of liquids down so you don't dehydrate.  (I spent my 21st birthday in the hospital because I did.)

Also, make sure someone's staying with you.  (Since you're in school, I'm guessing you live with your parents?  I hope that's not an inaccurate assumption.)  And make sure someone takes your temperature regularly!  A high fever can sneak up on you and be incredibly dangerous.  If it gets above 102, you may need to get to a doctor right away.

I'm sorry if I sound paranoid.  It's just that I experienced going from a healthy 20-year old to a now almost housebound 21-year old overnight, from an illness I didn't know I had.  I don't want to see it happen to anyone else.  Safe really is better than sorry.

Feel better, hon.  And if you're still sick tomorrow, please get yourself to a doctor and get checked out tomorrow.  Getting sick 8 times is serious stuff.

I hope I wasn't too doom and gloom.  I'm just concerned.
