So i've been feeling not quite right for a week or so.  I finally went to the dr on monday and he ran blood work, but everything came back normal.  Yesterday I lost my appetite and barley ate 1,100 cals, today was more like 900.  I know I have some sort of bug or something, but I was wondering if a few days like this will put me into starvation mode?

Right now I am eating mostly dry toast, tea, ginger ale, saltines, anything really gentle and bland.  And I know its not enough does anyone have any other bland suggestions that will help me up my cals if the continues?

Can you stomach a bit of peanut butter on toast?  Bananas?  Eggs are good too, I eat them when I'm sick.  Hope you feel better soon!

I'm in the same boat.  I just broke a tooth and couldn't get a dentist appt until next week.  What do you eat when you can't eat?

A few days won't put you into starvation mode, although obviously it would be good to get your calories up as soon as you can.

Some suggestions - vanilla icecream, yoghurt, smoothies, milk, real fruit juice, thick soups (like sweet potato and pumpkin), bananas, oatmeal made with whole milk or cream, some plain pasta - or try adding a little olive oil or butter to up the cals - avocado sandwiches and nuts (if you can stomach them).

White rice is my suggestion, feel better!

Thanks for the suggestions.  I made chicken broth with white rice and it went down pretty easy.  I was able to get my cals today to 1200.  Hopefully I'll be back to normal soon.
