side effects of increased calories/beginning of weight gain?
firstly, thank you for those of you who had suggestions for the night eating and calorie spreading out stuff. i've started to do it, and ife el stuffed a lot, but oh well..
but i've also noticed that since ive upped my calories ive had acne. i've never had acne before in my life, except for a few pimples here and there when i went through puberty. i havent gained a lot of weight back yet, but i'm going to guess my body is going through shock form the new foods and oils? or is it like going thorugh puberty again maybe (i havent gotten my period since june, and even before that was very sporadic and irregular and when i got it was 2 days for the past year or so). is the acne from being underweight or from increasing calories, i'm wondering.....
bc if its a good thing then it will be the first time i dont care about putting foundation on int he morning haha!
i just started my weight gain diet about a week ago and my face has broken out so bad to! i never got acne before either! and i started my period today so that might have something to do with it... i never lost my period tho since im on birth control. i think my body is just so confused right now. hopefully our acne clears up!
Both acne and breast tenderness can occur when increasing calories from starvation. It should normalize after a few months at your goal weight.
im breaking out like crazy since i started gaining again. i didnt think i was in starvation mode and maybe its completely unrelated, idk?
Agruskin -- you've been living almost exclusively on bread and cereal, right? So while you may have taken in enough calories, you may be quite malnourished which will create similar hormonal adjustments as if you had been in starvation mode. The breakouts should normalize as you adjust to a more balanced diet as well.
HEDGREN-i may have exagerated a bit, i eat sort of varied, fruits, veggies, lately i just cant get enough trail mix as i posted, i mean cups at a time in addition to the rest of my meal, 2 days recently that ive been nearly 3000, i dont understand y, y now?
Agruskin: O.K., but you are trying to gain right (due to digestive issues not ED)? So isn't 3000 or more calories a good thing (unless of course it is causing lots of gastro-intestinal symptoms)?
HEDGREN-hi, thanks, no, im yet another ED sufferer. im about at a bmi of 19, did i say that, well thats where i am eating 2500-2600 lately, the past 4 days or so ive been ravenous, eating upwards of 2700, and beyond...
i do have severe gastro issues where its just mind boggling that i can eat 3000 cals and NOTHING comes out. idk y all of a sudden im so hungry tho, just ravenous almost always. its startling that my body is asking for 3000 cals, if thats the case, since i dont think ive been starving the past couple months on 2500?
Agruskin -- well, then it might just be a shift in the right direction for your metabolism then. I'd say just go with it given the history. Good luck!
thank u hedgren! now if i could only get myself to go to the bathroom! ill try and relax about my eating tho!
agru -- try miralax! when i was in the hospital the first time i lived off this stuff... i couldnt go to the bathroom w/o it! but now im so normal i got everyday and it helps with my bloating feeling so muchhhhh. hope it helps youuu :)
FRUIT- i have it and have tried it, metamucil also, it says to take it for 7 days, is that what u did? did u continue to take it after?
agru - i have binding ibs and find that miralax works amazingly. and what i did was i took it for seven days then took a week or so without it, and then used it about every other day, then a couple times a week, etc. it REALLY helps!!!
yeah my doctor said its completely ok to take it more than 7 days if needed since its not a laxative only a stool softner it cant do any harm to your body! i love it, it didnt give me any stomach aches and cleared me up within a couple weeks and i think it taught my body how to go on its own again! lol i would say i was on it for probably 3 months...
thanks guys about the miralax! i sometimes think my butthole (sorry tmi) closed up or something, its just so painful, i know, sorry to be graphic, i hate my doctor, i need a new one!
What type of food should not be eaten?
