Recipe Ingredients for Siete mares (Seven Seas) Soup

8 cups water
8 roma tomatoes
3 stalks celery
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
6 carrots
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 tsp salt
2 servings tomato with chicken flavor cubes bouillon
44 g shrimp
4 scallops
3 oz snow crab
1/2 lb whitefish
84 g servings octopus
1 cup clams

Recipe Directions for Siete mares (Seven Seas) Soup

  1. Soup stock: pour water into a large pot. Cut and seed tomatoes into 1/2 inch pieces and place in pot. Crush the garlic cloves and add to soup. Add the tomato boullion, stir, and bring the pot to a boil. After boil, reduce heat to simmer and cook for 2 hours minimum.

  2. After cooking the base, put in blender and blend for 15-30 seconds and put back in pot. Chop the onion, celery, bell pepper and carrot into 1/4 inch pieces. Add to the base and cook for 1-2 hours more.

  3. In a separate, smaller pot, add 2 cups of soup stock and 1-2 cups water. Add the clams and crab claws and bring to boil for 1 minute. Add shrimp, scallops, fish, and octopus and bring to boil. Shut off heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Pour seafood soup into a large bowl and add (this is optional) 2 tbsp ketchup, 1/2 lime, and a pinch of salt, and throw in some avocado if desired. Add cilantro and onion.
