Silly Love Songs
I'm sure this topic has been posted before, but I thought we could all use some warm fuzzy feelings ![]()
Donna Lewis' "I Love You Always Forever" was me and my first bf's song......of course the relationship didn't last, but I still like the song, lol.
Anything by Sade is awesome...my husband and I picked "No Ordinary Love" as one of our songs at our wedding. We also choose "At Last" by the soulful Etta James as the song for our first dance.
What song really tugs at your heart strings? Makes you think of your HS sweetheart, your SO, or the one that got away?
Hehe, I love this thread =)
I'll Be by Edwin McCain will always have a special place in my heart. It was the last song they played at my jr. prom. Although the guy I went with was 'just a friend,' we're still pretty close and it makes me think of him. Of course, he probably couldn't remember the last song they played for a million dollars =), but that's ok.
Oh, and this one's a little silly, but I don't want to miss a thing makes me think of a summer fling, lol.

It's quite beautiful, and fitting for long distance relationships.
"I See Your Smile" (Gloria Estefan)
"The Best of Me" (Barry Manilow)
Those are me and Hubby songs, and when we hear them, we relish in the sap.
In high school I had massive crush on one particular guy, and I always associated "Crazy For You" (Madonna) with him. Corny, yes, but it was high school.
Hanging By A Moment, by Lifehouse always reminds me of the summer I met my husband. It's not exactly a mushy "love song" so we didn't have it at our wedding or anything, but it really is THE song that I associate with falling in love with him (not just cos the lyrics are appropriate... the song was SO overplayed that summer!
).
"Happy Together" by The Turtles, my husband and I played it at our wedding while signing our marriage certificates.
Eagles' "Peaceful Easy Feeling" - hubby heard it and thought of me when he went to Arizona while we were engaged. So, now I think of us when I hear it.
I really like the song No Place that Far by Sara Evans (I think). The first time I heard it was my aunt singing it at my sister's wedding this past Saturday and I thought is was really sweet.
I can't even remember the first - or any for that matter - song me and my boyfriend have danced to. Whenever I get to dance with him, I kind of forget there's even music playing. >.>
The song Book of Love by Peter Gabriel does remind me of my boyfriend though. It's cute, romantic, and totally wierd. Just like our relationship. He likes it because it was played at the end of Scrubs. >.<
Pour Some Sugar on Me.
The old hair band rockers knew what love is.
I will always love "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. I went to my senior prom with one of my best guy friends and he knows how much I've always loved this song. They played this song at the very, very end, while everyone was leaving. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back to the dance floor and we slow danced by ourselves. Awww :)
The theme song from "The Andy Griffith Show"!
(I had a male friend whom I cared (care) about a great deal who once asked me to tell him a secret (
) and I told him I could whistle the theme song from "The Andy Griffith Show". So now when I hear or think of it, I think of him!)
Silly, yes, but that's the way it goes sometimes!
I always think about my husband when I hear "god blessed the broken roads" by rascal flatts. Its such a meaningful song to us. It was the song we danced to at our wedding. I also LOVE "At last" by Etta James. I think I sang that most of my wedding day... I am a sucker for a good love song.
It's good to see so many different tastes in music!
Personally, I'm a sucker for the older stuff......the way they would sing was so heartfelt, passionate, and emotional you could literally hear it oozing from the speakers! Artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, Peggy Lee, etc.
I really like Michael Buble too
I really like "the luckiest" by Ben Folds. It's not really traditional but I like how honest it is, and it expresses EXACTLY how I feel.
Now, talking cheese, "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz. My fiance always said it reminded him of me.
:)))

hehe, true story
Secret Smile by Semisonic. It's a classic! Reminds me of my ex-boyfriend - we still talk and plan on re-uniting. So it's all good. :)
No Sleep by Sam Roberts. Reminds meof my childhood online sweetheart, Spencer, and we're meeting up this December, for the first time ever! I knew him for over 5 years and we used to talk and webcam for hours each day. Finally, we're gonna meet in flesh this December and god knows how exciting this whole thing is to both of us.
:D
