Silly question - weight trend

Good morning!  When I track my weight it shows my current weight and a weight trend (which is always a few pounds higher).  What is the weight trend and what is it tracking?

Very good question Alissa ~ I'd like to know the answer as well... 

Its my understanding that the Trend line is an average of the previous weight entries, and serves as a moving average. As long as the trend line is decreasing, you should be on track. Since our weight fluctuates so much, the trend line should help indicate your weight loss progress.

The blue line represents your actual daily weight (what you input based on your scales reading), and the green line is a moving average trendline. The trend is an average of your last 10 weights which you inputted. The more frequently you input your data (once a day as opposed to once a week or less) the more accurate the trend data will be. If the trend is going up it shows you are gaining (on average), if it is going down it shows you are losing, if it is the same you are plateauing or maintaining.

Thanks for your responses!  After reading what you said it looks like the trend is the mid-point between my starting weight and my most recent weight.  Not sure why it's there but that's where the number comes from.

It is the average of your last ten entries. A very friendly, self-proclaimed geek proved that for me awhile back.
