Silly Rant

Quote  |  Reply

OK....silly question.

On my burn meter, my new number is 2460.  I burned 671 calories at the gym.  Now if you add the two, that is 3131.  Yet, after I input my activity, the meter reads 3070...Now how did I lose 60 calories....LOL

If you have an answer, let me know!

hehe idk, did you change your weight sometime after this? Could you try removing all activities and seeing? then put it back ? Every time I update my weight I lose 10 calories to my burn meter :(

also, wouldnt extra activities "overlap" with natural calorie burn?  I never paid attention to the way the numbers added up though

Here's the answer:  let's say it took 60 minutes for you to burn that 671 calories.  When you input your activity, you also input the time it takes.  The burn meter takes this time into account and assumes that the calories you would have burned lying on the couch for that 60 minutes are included in the 671 calories.  It takes away those calories and then adds in the 671.  I hope this is clear as mud now!

Take care!

That actually made perfect sense, Bubbles!

Thanks!  It's like double dipping if I counted it twice.

Thanks...makes sense to me.
