Silly things that motivate me!
Okay, so I was just thinking about how I HATE having to be careful about my fat when I lean over and it sparked the idea for this topic.
Do you guys have any real frivolous mini-goals that you want to achieve when or before you reach your goal?
Mine are:
1. Bend over without worrying about rolls
2. Manage to look good next to my brother's could-be-model girlfriend on the beach (that's a long-term one, haha)
3. Get rid of the hangy stuff under my arms
4. Buy a bikini (but that will be a LONG way away)
Does anyone else set these really stupid yet somehow motivating goals for themselves? I might be weird but I wonder if anyone else does this. Like, oh, when I'm done I won't have to poke my fat into position when I lean over or something, XDDDDD. *shify eyes* And I wanna hear about them if you do, so post!
Reason: Moved from WL to Motivation forum
I'm definitely with you on wanting to get rid of my "bat-wings" on my upper arms... HATE THEM!!
I would also like to be able to buy pretty underwear instead of big-bertha-briefs.
ummmm... I will try to think of some others
Mine are/were:
-To be able to buy the cute and/or pretty undies/bras and not the plus-sized utilitarian models (done!)
-To be able to walk into any store and buy clothes if I wanted to and not have to worry about whether or not they had a plus-size section or if nothing would fit me (done!)
-To be able to wear and look good in feminine fitted clothes and cap sleeves. Fitted clothes - sorta done, it depends on the style. Cap sleeves - getting there, but I'm doing strength training and noticing a big difference already.
Will add more if I think of them. Those were my biggest motivators. :) I love threads like this.
i get my motivation from you guys! fellow CC'ers :D
i'm pretty happy where i am, but yeah, i'd like to lose some of this belly & the old bat wings. LOL
OK this one is strange, but I wanted to be able to wear my cell phone on my waist without it digging into the belly instead of having to wear it on my pocket where it would fall off quite often - sure feels good to have it on my belt (and be able to wear a belt).
Other mini goal is to get a pedicure after losing 20 pounds - I've had two already. 15 pounds til the next one.
Not-so-mini goal was to loose the extra "boobs" that hang out from above the bra just below/behind my arms. Those have shrunk, but are still hanging there. Back fat disgusts me more than belly fat - and I have plenty of both at this point. Getting better, though.
You guys have already covered a couple of mine:
Upper arms, most definitely! This is the part of my body that I probably find most offensive for some strange reason
Not buying the big ol' Maw-Maw drawers; getting cute underwear instead
I also want to be able to see more definition around my collar bone area. And right now I feel the need to cover up my fat with large clothing; it'd be awfully nice to not always have to wear jackets or coats or oversized t-shirts. AND I'd REALLY like to know what it feels like to walk without my thighs rubbing together.
i'm with you on that last one sister!! aah, what a joy it will be to wear a skirt without having to wear bike shorts underneath to prevent the thigh rash!!
Haha, sasquatch, are you in the thigh gap group? When it opens up again you should totally join if not, it's great.
Ooh, the thigh gap thing! Yes! Being able to walk or elliptical or whatever in shorts without having the shorts ride up due to thigh rub! TOTALLY great goal!

I concur.
Also, not having to think about sucking my stomach in all the time and only buying tops that disguise it.
i'd like slimmer thighs. i do a lot of gymnastics and they're so muscly! yuck
mine seems stupid...i guess im lucky that I can wear short skirts n stuff cos my legs have always been toned and slim...wearing a bikini again is deff motivation...but more then that I want to wear a backless dress or boob tube as im not so keen on my back area! i know that's probably bizarre!

Agghhh!! Thigh rash is the worst!!!
I'd like to not have a muffin top anymore.
Giving yourself a pedicure every 20 lbs is such a great idea. Maybe I'll come up with something similar. Thanks!
I want to be able to have my picture taken without having to push my face forward to create the illusion that I don't have a double chin!
TO WEAR HEELS WITHOUT PAIN!!! I have quite a few pairs of sexy heels from before I gained weight that I can't wear because they hurt. That hurts my heart the most. I miss my shoes!!! The bad thing is that I've continued to buy more and can't wear them. So I have some I haven't even really worn. *pout*
I'm with veggiedoodle! Being able to wear heels without pain is my motivation too! I never wore heels before I was overweight (I was a grungy student, in doc martens!) and now that I can walk in them without falling over I want not to be in agony when I touch my toes!
Also, to be able to wear a shift dress without having a firm control stomach flattening bodysuit underneath to make it seem like I have a waist!

Ooh, yes! That's a definite motivator for me!
- Have my friend punch me in the stomach and not have to realize that she's making me jiggle to make herself feel better.
- Be able to sing properly and NOT suck it in.
- Run without a jiggle or a chub-rub.
- Be able to share my friend's plaid pants that she bought in Harajuku.
- BELIEVE people when they call me attractive, so I don't bite their heads off for lying to me.
- Stop taking 45 minutes to pose for one photo, to make sure I look acceptable.
