Sinners Saved By Grace-God Waited

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

2 Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Now being saved by the grace of God, have you ever stopped and thought back about how you lived before you accepted Jesus Christ in your life.  I can remember drinking until I couldn't walk,  I can remember drinking then getting behind the wheel of a car and not remembering how I got home, my experiementation with drugs.  I look back and remember my high school years, lying, cheating and stealing.  I remember my days of fornicating, womanizing and lust.  Looking back of how I got shot at 15 when I stuck out of the house.  Those are just a few of the things I can look back and remember, but what about you who are reading this.

Have you ever stopped and looked back over you life and realized that while we were yet sinners, not even thinking about God - He sent his son to die for us, even in the worst of our sin, Jesus died on the cross for me.

I think back and wonder, what if I would have died in my sin?  If the enemy would have had his way.  Then the thought comes to my mind that all through my sins Jesus was sitting at the right hand of God interceding on my behalf as he has done for us all.

Telling the our heavenly Father-not yet, wait, give them more time.  I thank God Jesus is has plead my case asking God to give me the time to come to repentance.  When I think back I cannot help but give Him praise for asking God to wait for me.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, He is coming back, but He is pleading with the Father wait - I paid the price give them a little more time.

Our Heavenly and loving Father, I thank you for allowing me the time to come to know that I was just a sinner lost and on the quick road to hell, you gave me the opportunity to hear your voice saying ye must be born again.  Thank you for waiting for me.

Amen

amen Mark!  I do.  And then God finds ways to remind me! - the other night I got a facebook message - "do you remember me?"  from a guy that said I rode his bus in high school, then told me about a joke he said he'll never forget - well thankfully I did, and I was able to tell how Jesus came in my life and has totally changed me from the person I once was.

Thank goodness he is still longsuffering and desires that none perish, but a day is coming when he will no longer wait.  I just pray my oldest daughter has accepted him before then.

But it's in remembering what he's done for us that causes us to love him so.  I know I had much to be forgiven and is why I love so much today!

 Amen!

Everyday is an opportunity to remember and acknowledge our Father, The King and creator of all heaven and earth.

Father, I thank you for another day, another opportunity to love You and to serve You. May I walk in Your glory today and do Your will not mine.
