Sister turing 30, thoughtful gift ideas?????
OK my sister is turning 30 and she is having a little trouble with this age. Her and I are really close and I want to get her something thoughtful, something she will love and I was curouis for ideas or tradtional gifts for this age. Anything like that would really help me out. Thank you in advance.

Jewelry always works for me. Think of her favorite clothing colors and styles. Does she have a preference with using finger rings, bracelets, necklaces or earrings, or even other piercings that could use an update? Matching earrings and necklace is my choice since I only wear my watch and wedding ring on my hands. She will think of you every time she puts it on. :)
hum get her a day at the spa so she can feel rejuvinated! or ya jewelry is always a good one. maybe we need to know a little more about your sis :)
How about a spa weekend for the two of you
When my sister turned 30 she freaked out and she bought a lot of skin products. Maybe some fancy skin products/ make up for her? (She's 38 now and she still buys a lot of skin products haha)
Or a facial package at the beauty salon.
I'm 27 now so 30 is not too far away....wu wu...

darn sarah beat me to it! was going to say a pampering weekend!
Is there anything you've got, say a picture, of you two as teenagers? Maybe frame one, as a reminded she's still young? (i know some people get freaked out at 30 hehe)

I freaked out when I turned 30 as well. A lot. Honestly, nothing you could give her would make her feel better about the situation, so just get her something she loves. My favorite thing in the world is going out for fancy dinner with friends, so when I turned 30 my friends took me out, and I had so much fun I didn't get much chance to reflect on the fact that I was OLD. The idea is that if she likes the gift it will at least distract her for a moment from her distress.
Just my own personal feeling (because I'm sensitive about getting old) is that I would be insulted if someone had gotten me skin products. Like, "Do I look like I need these?" Of course, I would have taken them home and used them, but it still would have hurt a bit. Like I said, that's just me being unreasonable, as usual.

jenka I see your point. I take my suggestion back. If I turn 30 and my brother gives me skin products I'll scream at him probably hee hee....
actually i got smelly spray stuff for xmas and i freaked... i was like do i smell?!
THank you guys for the replies. I was thinking of a spa day or a braclete that I could get engraved on. I wish that I could take her and I out and to the spa but I live on the West Coast right now and her on the East Coast. SO getting together is out for right now. But thank you, I think ya the braclet.
I agree spa time or jewelry are no-miss gifts.
Although I have given a gag gift to my friend who turned 30 soon after me. It was an assortment of stuff for aging women - "anti-sag" cream, hair dye, calcium supplements, etc. I knew she would be able to handle the joke though.
The worst gift I got when I turned 30 was by a well-intentioned younger friend (she's about 25). It's a keychain that she got engraved to say "29 Forever". I mean, being 30 isn't that bad that I need to be in denial about it!! When she turns 30, I'm definitely getting her some "anti-sag" cream and Depends undergarments. LOL
