a size five is a small.. how would you be fat if you wear a small?
I'm 5'5 and 140 lbs, I wear a size 5 in Jr's and a size 4 in misses.  I think I'm a little overweight still, but not fat per say.....
wtf? how is size 5 fat?
yeah i meant in jrs.
It can be, depends what your definition of thin is tyvm.
thin is thin

fat is fat.

theres not much of a fine line between the 2. tyvm.

hahahaha
dude, i'm a size four and i'm 5'5. you are definately not fat, don't worry. people hold their weight very differently and have different proportions. plus, i find that jeans are VERY specific depending on brand. have you tried various brands/styles of jeans? you could try a smaller size that are wide-legged, or something...? i dunno, just throwing out ideas.
and you need to realize that there is not only a fine line between 'thin' and 'fat,' but a HUGE line. especially for those with body image issues which you have to be more concerned about than most, having a history of extreme 'dieting' practices. if you felt 'fat' at 100 lbs and a size zero, than i don't think you're the best person to determine whether or not a certain pair of jeans are flattering for you.
I graciously retract my comment LOL. Having not knowing american jean sizes. It didn't actually occur to me I'm on an american site :S

5 is pretty small still. I'm usually a size 9, I'm 155 and 5'6".  My goal is to be size 7.  I would just like to point out though, that when I was about 145 I fit into size 7 with a body fat percentage of about 17%, which is on the lower range of healthy for a female.  It doesn't really matter what size you are, it just matters how you carry it :-)

props for muscles!

A size 5 in US jeans is pretty small, even with vanity sizing.  If the OP had said the jeans fit in the legs or seat, but were snug in the waist, THEN I would have suggested possibly looking for a different cut of jeans.  But to say that a size 5 is "almost huge" and THEN ask "am I fat"?  To me this morning,  that sounds like an absolutely ridiculous question ... OR a fishing expedition, so people will come on here and say "OMG, you are SOOOO THIIIINNN, of COURSE you're not fat, heavens NOOOOO!!"

I guess today I'm just not in the mood to tolerate skinny people moaning about how fat they are.  Some days I can take it, some days I can't.

Also, jean sizes mean NOTHING. They vary WIDELY from country to country, and from brand to brand even within the US.

And "thin is thin, fat is fat" is not necessarily so.  Especially if you have a screwed-up body image and are unable to see yourself for what you really look like.

Um... NO you are not fat. You wear about the same size as me and I would never consider myself fat. I'm pretty sure you know that you aren't? At least I hope.
A size 5 is small imo. I wear anywhere from a size 8-9 depending on brand and cut. I am 5'6 130lbs. Maybe try boot cut jeans. These give you a wider leg from about knee down and still have a smaller waist. If a size 5 is huge around the waist I would try a size 4 in a boot cut low rise jeans.
Yeah, I have the opposite problem.  The Jeans always are too snug in the waist and too big in the legs.  I think my legs are too small and my stomachs too large..but NO 5 is not big.  The average american woman is a size 12

This is the second post that you have started with the subject being that you are a size five in jeans and is that too big...In the last thread you received all positive feedback about your size.  That begs the question, why the repost?  Are you looking for permission to continue destructive eating patterns, or did you not get enough positive reinforcement?  Because, seriously, it is intrinsic not entrinsic motivation that you should be seeking.  Im not posting this to be rude but I really do question your motivations, especially when ive seen other posts by you that talk about how little you eat, etc etc..

The question is, where do you live? Because in Canada, a 5 is pretty tiny. In the US it is still not big at all but it is bigger. If you live in Canada and you are worried about a 5 being fat then you have major body image issues:( I suggest maybe seeing a therapist.
I was just reading your Bio. Have you seeing a doctor or therapist about your eating. It honestly sounds like you have an eating disorder if you are not happy in a size 5. In your bio it says you have taken dieting and exercise to the extreme once before if not already there. You need to see a doctor about this.

My goal is to fit into my size 9/10 jeans.  I don't want to be smaller then that.  I don't think 5 is big AT ALL!!!  I think that's fairly thin.

It seems a sort of common thing here for teenagers to post complaints about how fat and disgusting they are when in reality everyone who looks at their pics is trying to figure out a way to gently tell them they are bordering anorexic.

With all due respect Juicebox, there are people on this website who really are overweight and by you calling yourself fat is highly offensive to them. In what universe is size 5 fat?

hockeygirl:

A size 5 in Canada is the same as a size 5 in the States.  I moved from Alberta to NY 3 years ago... everything is pretty much the same over here.
