What size is a 5'7?

Quote  |  Reply
I thought it would an interesting thread to see what size everyone wears at 5'7''.  I love those magazines that show different sized on different people, sometimes it is just shocking to see what size a model really is.

I'll start, I am a size 4 (135lbs)

I'm 5'6" and 160 lbs and a 10. It depends though, I can be an 11 in some brands of jeans, or a 9, but 10 is the most consistantly fitting size. I've gone down a size or so since I was in the 170s.

I've always been a dense girl. I look nothing like the scale says I should look Undecided

I'm 5'6" (a inch shorter than you), a sophomore in highschool, and I weigh about 150 at the moment. I take a size 8 in most clothes but I just bought a pair of perfect fitting size 28 (US 6) hudson jeans. When I'm 140ish I get into a comfy 6 in everything. My goal is 135 where I'd be a 4-6? I've been told that I look 3 years older than I actually am because of my curves. At this point, I think its impossible for me to lose them which I've now accepted as a GOOD thing!

But like I said... DENSE.

Wow. Size 8? I'm 10 lbs heavier than you, and a 10 and sometimes a 12. Man.

5'5", 127 lbs, size 4

5'7" i currently weigh 141 but, my goal is 128. i wear a size six or mediums.

I'm amazed by the scale of the responses! How varied our bodies can be, eh?

I'm almost 5'7 as well, (5'6 and a half'ish)

I am fluctuating between 160 Frown and 153 (today, lol) I can fit into my size 8 dress pans with a little snug in the waist most days, but other days I'm wearing a kinda big in the waist size 12. I sit normally at a regular size 10.

(Unhappily) Weight issues are new to me.

So 5'6ish, 155 pounds at a size 10

My sizes also fluctuate widely, depending on brand, style, and when I wear them, lol. My smallest size is a 0, which are really (unflatteringly) snug on me and I haven't worn out of the house since my ED days, and my largest is a 5, which fit perfectly when I'm bloated or its TTOM. Go figure. I usually hover around a Juniors 5/6 or a misses 2/4 and I don't weigh myself, so couldn't even tell ya what I weigh. Weird.

Hi Sarah. When I weighed 117 my lowest ever, most size 2's were big on me. Was128, I wish I wore a small or medium size shirt. I usually wear a large even at 130. I was a competitive swimmer for years growing up and have a very broad back and shoulders.

Yes!! I still have huge muscular arms and shoulders from swimming! One time I laid back in a chair at the orthodontists office and the hygienist just couldn't get over it. "OH, MY!!! What HUGE shoulders you have. I mean, thought my daughter had big shoulders for a girl, but, OH MY!...that's ok...guys like that..."

Yeah, sure they do.

Ugh!

Well at least I've found one who doesn't seem to mind. Smile

Also, I'm 5'7" and 155 (ugh my highest ever) and I wear a 10 usually.

GW is 135 hopefully a size 6.

OK, I have weighed anywhere between 134 and 164 lbs at 5'7".

When I was 134, I was also 16 yrs old, a varsity rower (training 2x/day), eating WAY too little, and a size 6.  That lasted for about 6 months until I had a depressive episode (the weight loss was probably a precursor, a warning sign that was largely ignored by everyone) and I went back into the 140's.

I think for the most of high school I fluxed between 142 and 146, size 6 or 8.

When I started college, I was at 148 (I remember because I unpacked my new scale and wrote it down on freshman move-in day) and a size 8.

When I returned from my junior year semester abroad, I was 156 and my size 8s were quite snug.

By the end of my junior year (after living in my sorority with an amazing chef and drinking heavily most nights) I was 164.  I wore a lot of sweatpants because I didn't want to buy new clothes in a larger size.  My mom finally forced me to buy new jeans - 10s.

That summer, I managed to become a gym rat, get control over my diet (and cutting down on booze didn't hurt) and get down to about 156 again.  Everybody said how great I looked.  The 8s fit again, but snugly.

But, by the time I graduated from college (partied even harder senior year), I was back up to 164.  Good thing I had those 10s lying around.

Moved to a new city and got a personal trainer at the gym about 4 months later, dropped back down to 156, and then gained 2 back, where I've been at for about 8 months until just joining CC.  I wear 10s now because they feel more comfortable, like I'm not busting out of them.

I've already gotten down to 156 in the 2 weeks I've been on this website.

I haven't been able to break below 156 in almost 3 years.  I know that all sounds like small increments, but it really has been 30 lbs difference in 7 yrs, which bothers me to think about.  And, for someone who ostensibly doesn't have a huge body image problem, clearly I've been paying close enough attention to my weight since I was a teenager to give you all the above play-by-play.  Of course, I'm not a teenager anymore, my body weight has shifted (I didn't used to have a butt at all, even when I was at the same weight), I don't work out nearly as much as I did in high school, and my metabolism has changed.  But dammit... I would so love to be below 150 and be able to keep it there.  Reverse the effects of college, you know?

Wow... this is my first post ever... like in any forum or any blog or anything... and venting certainly feels good.  Thanks to anyone who just read this novel.

I know this is an aging thread...but WOW-I can't believe the variety of bodies we all have and how DIFFERENT we all seem to fit into different sizes.  I am now 166 lbs, 5'7 and in 14 petite/avg.  I posted a while back, too when this thread first started, so all of this just amazes me.

I think a great lesson we can take from this is that we are all unique bodies (and souls!) and we should never let shows like 90210 or Gossip Girls dictate how our bodies should look.  Health and well being are the first and formost important thing in our lives.  We should all be proud of what we have achieved here, no matter how little or big the success!Laughing

Okay. Before I was 5'8, around 135-145 lbs and wore a size 7 to 9, depending on the maker. I usually stayed a steady 9.

I am now 5'8, 175 lbs, and wear a size 13.

This thread is so uplifting...  I had this same argument with my husband when I bought my latest bridesmaid dress...  I am 5 7' and I weight 146 currently.  I have had 2 kids, and am a size 6-9 depending on the clothes.  When I went ot buy my last bridesmaid dress (Ihave always been a 6 in that kind of dress)....it was a 10... and my clothes fit exactly the same, and I still fit into all my 6s...  Just goes to show you that sizes are not everything.

Right now I am 172 and my size 15 pants are nice and baggy! looks terrible but makes me happy - I'll buy new ones when I get a bit lower.

Recently I have been fitting into size 14 stuff at around 180.

I think when I weighed 155 I fit into size 11/12 stuff, but I have wide hips.

I am 5'8" [in the morning :)] and usu 5'7.75" by night haha...

I weigh 137 now and wear a size 5 or 6. All my jeans are 27's or 28's and I think that means a size 6. Sevens run small and lucky's run big...

When I weighed 115-120 I still wore the same pants, they were just baggier...when I weighed 150 they were really tight =/

They fit just right with a belt now =)

I'm 5'11" 157 pounds and a size 10 in most things except pants...size 12 in pants.

LOL I was the first post on this thread and I now weigh 215 pounds and wear a size 16. :)

I'm 5'7", 190#, Was fine in 12/13's up until a month ago or so... too tight, just went and bout 13/14's this past week. But 9's are good and where my goal is..12's even at this point.

I'm 5'7, 130lbs and a size 4. 34D-26-36. Sometimes I can get into 3 but I have a naturally large chest so It's better for me to wear a 4. Some of you weighed 9lbs+ then me and wear a smaller dress size and some of you weighed 9lbs- me and wear a larger size. Lol. I guess it all depends on your bone structure and where your weight rests at.

5'7-228lbs-Size 16/18

I'm 5'7" about 155 and usually a size 6-8 (the stores are all different)
