Skin Cream for Loose Skin??
I have been very lucky in the fact i have lost 119Ibs in less than a year and have spent the past month maintaining with hardly any loose skin (put down to the fact i think i have done a lot of training)
My problem is i have a little loose skin around my stomach with a lot of stretch marks, i can cope with the stretch marks but the skin is really annoying and looks a little disgusting... i have managed to shape my abs above my belly button and have the start of a pack coming through but i was wondering whether it is worth investing in some of these skin tightening lotions available? do they work or do i need to wait for it to happen naturally?
surgery isnt really an option if i can help it
I don't think lotions really work. They work when you put them on as in your skin feels tighter at the time being but as for long term results I see nothing happening with creams. I also don't think that the skin will ever completely tighten back up without surgery.
I do think it depends on your age though. I am 23 and have horrible stretch marks and a little loose skin from my pregnancy. As of now I am planning on getting a tummy tuck to rid them. But my daughter is only 6 months old and I have about 12 more lbs. to lose so I am going to see if they start to fade away before I do surgery!
How old are you? The younger you are, the better your chances of the skin tightening up on it's own, but you may never get rid of it all.
You've only been maintaining about a month, so give it some time. I've heard it can take about a year of maintaining before it's finished tightening up - not sure if that's true or not but either way I'd give it more time. Keep doing what you're doing with the training - that and drinking a lot of water are the best things for helping the skin cling to the muscles more - but honestly, it's pretty much genetic. You may never lose it all without surgery.
I am 22 so i am hoping it will do it by itself!!
I'll keep drinking water and see if the cream i have been using works?? gotta be better than doing nothing at all!
Exfoliate the area with a looflah (spell?) sponge before bedtime and during or after showering. Just enough to cause some irritation. Apply moisturizer containing Vitamins C and/or E. These vitamins promote collagen growth. Exfoliating promotes new cell growth as well. I break open Vitamin E capsules and apply the gel. And I also apply a vitamin C moisturizer. I came across this info on the net yesterday so I'm only a day into it. I'm also taking vitamin C, B-Complex and Cod liver oil internally once a day (you could also include Vitamin E). From what I've read it can take up to a year for your skin to snap back on it's own. I'm hoping with a little extra effort, in my case, it snaps back sooner.
I had a baby when i was 17 yrs old...i gained 100lbs with my pregnancy. I am a very small person, I am 5'1" and I was 115 at the time i got pregnant. When I gave birth I weighed 215lbs. Now my daughter is 2 yrs old and I am down to 125lbs. However, because of the weight I gained, my skin is so loose. It has not snapped back by itself and I'm only 19! I also had a c-section so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I would love to get a tummy tuck so I can wear bikinis again and have fun with my friends in the summer without having to worry about it... but I do plan on having more kids in like 6 years. I heard of this cream called Rodial Tummy Tuck Cream. I think it is like $100 a bottle. I have not tried it yet but I do plan on it. Has anyone heard of it or tried it??
