Skin on tummy firmed right up!
Here's something cool. I dropped 12 pounds over 2 1/2 months and like 5 inches off my waist (serious weight lifting). The skin over my abs looked a bit wrinkly and much older lady-ish which concerned me. Well, I've maintained this weight loss for a steady month without gaining or losing and the skin firmed up and is youthful looking again (I'm 46). My plan is to go for losing another 10 and maintain again for a month. Maybe I won't have to ponder plastic surgery after all (not that I could afford it anyway.) Slow weight loss rocks!
Congratulations and thanks for the input.
I am losing my gut and just have a small pooch left. I keep working it and plan to have it completely gone in a few months. At 51, I was concerned that I would look saggy. So far, though, I have not. Am glad to know that it's not too late for a flat tummy. I have carried my weight in my gut most of my adult life. Look forward to us parting ways.
Congratulations, and yeah, thanks for sharing.
Loose skin is something I'm worried about too. I'm 31 and have lost almost a stone in close to two months. Still have some ways to go, but as I'm losing at a steady pace, maybe I don't have to be so worried about the skin after all. Just be healthy and use buckets of moisturiser. ![]()
Congrats! That is great news. I'm glad your plan is working for you.
My abs are my concern area too. What kind of exercises did you do to help them? I have an ab lounge that I....try.....to remember to use, and I do jacknives almost everyday, but I still don't feel like I'm doing enough for my tummy since it is my target area. Any suggestions?
All over weight lifting with free weights that uses your whole body. Spot exercise won't get the results you want. Pushups, pullups, running up and down stairs with 40 lbs, cleans and presses, stacking and unstacking weights and barbells... all of this is giving me abs! Weight training that has you really sweating and really working to get 3 sets of 10 reps. I work out 3x a week for 30 minutes. Some people recommend The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women as a starting point and as an explanation and all the new science that shows anerobic rather than aerobic and spot training is where results are. All I can say is I've done it all (incuding aerobics, the butt and thigh roller, etc) and nothing has worked as dramatically and quickly as this has for me.
Good luck!
That's truly awesome. Congrats!(:
