Any Skinny Bitches Out There Who Want to Support Each Other?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi,

My name is Mary and I have been a vegan for 17 years. I read the Skinny BitchLaughing book and am a total addict! What a hilarious book and it was a good kick in the pants for me. Just because you are vegan doesn't mean you are eating healthy foods.

I recently gave up all the nastiness that was in my diet...for example, aspartame, caffeine, preservatives, chemicals, white flour, refined sugar etc. I eat organic as much as possible and run away from processed foods.

I'd like to share recipes, stories and just good laughs and support with anyone else who is equally "on the program."

Thanks for the info, I completely forgot that my boyfriend makes a really great salsa, guess I will be asking for a batch this weekend.Laughing

Ireland, yes its the land of it....its going to be a challenge, I sure do miss my Whole Foods store down the street from where I used to live....LOL you never realize how you miss something until you can't get it! I live in the South, so Dublin is a 3hr trek (basically an all day journey - this is also the land of no straight roads or major freeways!) for some vegan choices....not too practical, so going to see how well I can do with what I have around me...when I can find a vegan place I am sure I will have died and gone to heaven Wink

Irlmonet - I'm going to be studying abroad in Ireland next fall.  I haven't read the Skinny Bitch book, but I am a vegetarian.  Is it really that hard in Ireland?  I'll be in Cork. (I'm going to UCC.)  I talked to another student who went last year and she said there were plenty of markets and places where I'd be able to find veg food... do you have knowledge of Cork?

You have no need to worry in Cork, they have vegetarian stores and I think at least two or three restaurants (. I live in Waterford (about 1 1/2 hrs north of Cork). I'm finding it difficult, but not impossible, just really have to read everything everything...

You'll have a lovely time in Cork (I go down that way often)! Make sure to bring warmer clothes for the fall and lots of raingear!Laughing

Here's some websites that might give you some more info:

Hope this helps you out, if you need any other info, just PM me!

Double post

Thanks so much! That definitely gets rid of my worries! I'll take a look at those websites.  I'll be there from mid-August to December... and I love wearing my rain boots :)
