Welcome to my world!  My husband is very tall & thin....he can eat anything & everything and never gain a pound.  I wish he would gain weight - he has no idea how hard it is to lose weight.  But, he doesn't push food on me anymore.  When I say I don't want something - he lets it go.  If I cook dinner and don't eat what I've fixed for him....he doesn't give me a hard time about it.  I keep all kinds of sweet treats around for him and pretty much can ignore them now.  But....to use your words.....it's not fair and I want to cry (sometimes).

I completley agree.. my roomate is about 5'7", 125 pounds, and I want to shoot her in the face sometimes.. not to mention she eats SO LOUD.. it just frustrates me so much.. I think im starting not to like her because of it haha.. that and she steps on the scale religiously to make sure she hasnt gained any weight... shes been @ 124-126 for the last 4 months and she eats whatever she wants.. by now you think she would get that shes NOT GOING TO GAIN WEIGHT... it makes me sooooo annoyed... sometimes i just sit there and i go "just to let you know.. that bagel has 330 calories in it" and she goes "oh my gosh it DOES?! i just ate a piece of pie and chicken fingers and french fries too!" but she doesnt stop eating it!!!!!!!! Just turns around and keeps right on dunkin that thing in her creame cheese.. and im over here with my 100 calorie pack

SO FRUSTRATING! hahaha.. so i can DEF relate!!!
thank-you guys, you've made me smile.  I just have to keep telling myself that everything I put into my body is doing it some good, whereas what she eats, even if it doesn't make her put on weight, isn't making her body smile on the inside.  Someone once told me you should eat to nourish yourself, not to feed your hunger, and that you need to want to put good things into your body.  I guess that's what this comes down to.  Thank-you, take care, Ruth
I know the feeling ruth, but unfortunately it is my 3-year-old child that I find myself utterly annoyed with as he eats his pb & js and I just drool. He begged me to make cupcakes the other day and I agreed, but asked him to lick the top of each one so as to claim them as his own and dissaude me from eating them. This poor kid is so going to be in therapy later on.
I had to laugh out loud when I read you had your son lick the top of each cupcake....hey, whatever works!
"but asked him to lick the top of each one so as to claim them as his own and dissaude me from eating them. This poor kid is so going to be in therapy later on."

LOL!!

As a famous large lady comieden said.."They say inside every fat woman is a thin one trying to get out...I know this is true..coz I ate the skinny b*tch for breakfast"..LOL..its ok..stick at it here and soon enough YOU will be the cute 125lbs one and EVERYONE will notice !!!!
Just wait.  As these skinny people get older their metabolisms
will slow down and they'll gain weight.  Since they haven't
learned healthy eating habits they may have a much harder time getting
rid of it than those of us who have been working hard at it.
*falls off chair laughing* XD

...lick the cupcakes for Mommy, honey...
so I'm Joan Crawford.... :)
my kids were on me for cupcakes the other day, so I made the diet coke cake and poured it into a cupcake pan. very handy for portioning, and they were ecstatic. My six year old was absolutely tickled that we put pop in our cake.
My son would love to lick my cupcakes for me. If i asked him too.. I would pay for it in the end. He will be jumpin' from wall to wall when i would have been better off with that one pound he help me to keep off...

Now that is funny. Your son licking the cupcake..

Have you tried to make diet coke cupcakes.. My mom makes them for my kids now. They love them. They have splenda made icing on them.. I think she made them more for her than the kids.. But they loved them.. SO she makes them for the kids once a month for having good grades...LOL... If i lose a pound i can't even get a cup cake.. My mom tells to me all the time. You are watching your weight. I don't think you need the carbs.. LOL
I've known people who seemed to eat whatever they wanted and not gain weight.  I was envious until I noticed they can't keep doing it forever!  At some point, maybe due to age, pregnancy, hormones, or whatever, their metabolisms will slow down and their poor eating habits will catch up with them!  And I'm sure it'll be even harder for them to lose weight than your average person, because they're so used to eating so much of so many fattening foods. . .
the other thing to look at is what that person who eats all day is eating.

I feel like I'm eating all day, but I'm usually around 1200 calories, and it's all fruits, veggies and low fat proteins. lol
I had not heard of the diet coke cake- anyone with a recipe? This is especially timely because my mother bakes with my son on Sundays and sends it all home with him- lovely woman...
I used to be skinny. As a teenager and early 20s, I was very thin. I did not realize how lucky I was then. I could eat anything and not gain weight. My sister was the same. BUT now, pounds have caught up with us! I have to learn to eat healthier. I think that's what's going to happen to your skinny housemate someday. Probably. You'll be the thin one then and you'll be smiling, not her :)

"oh my gosh it DOES?! i just ate a piece of pie and chicken fingers and french fries too!"

Hahahahaha!!!!!

this is the story of my life.

I live with THREE models. All absolutely beautiful, eat whatever they want and have the most perfect bodies ever.

My roommate is "vegetarian," but get this, she can't cook.  And there aren't any REAL vegetarian options on campus for eating out.... so she eats Chipotle and Papa John's every day.  Or BK fries... etc.

You guessed it, skinny as a rail.   AND she complains about how "Untoned" her perfectly flat tummy is.  And makes all these resolutions to work out etc, keeps them for a week, during which I have to listen to her whine about how much she hurts from PLAYING A ROUND OF TENNIS when I run every other day and work out for about an hour every other day at the gym..... GAAAHHH.
