anyone have any suggestions on how to keep your leg from going bulky>>?? or how to make them unbulky???
Don't be a man or don't do steroids should help with the muscle bulk. If we're talking about fat, eat less.
every instance where i've known or seen women with extremely bulkey legs, they have worked very very very hard for a long time to get them to be that way. PERIOD.
muscle wise anyway. i'm talking about women that work out for several hours in a day, not just 30 minutes or an hour. And they train for YEARS to get that look. you won't turn in to a figure competator with average gym attendance. not to worry ;).
weight training is good for you!

OMG I just spit out my water. That is hilarious!
I've been a gymnast for 16 years. So obviously I have extremely bulky legs. Plus, I have tendons in my calves that are literally too tight (and thats according to my doctor). So its not only quads and calves that are bulky from tumbling, its double calves from my "birth deficiency"! lol. I have been trying to lengthen my muscles to make the appearance of my legs less bulky. I understand that if my methods work at all it will be over a long period of time so I haven't noticed anything yet, but apparently Pilates elongates your muscles. Also, low-impact/high cardio is supposed to help like in-line skating or using an elliptical. running just makes them worse. Hope I helped. :) Let me know if you find any other ways.
Joseph Pilates took some elements from gymnastics - mat exercises and pelvic stabilization - and some elements from yoga to make up a training routine to rehab war wounded.
If you're immobilized in bed because you've had your legs shot off, Pilates works, it's better than nothing.
If you aren't in need of rehab and/or physical theraphy though, Pilates is useless for most purposes. It's decent flexibility training - but yoga's better, and has more meditative aspects. And it's okay motion training and muscle control training - but straight up gymnastics is better at that.
So really, there's no point to Pilates, you're better off going with the real deal which is yoga and gymnastics.
