What do skinny people do with all that free time???

Quote  |  Reply

(if you are skinny, don't be offended, I'm just jealous)

As I was biking today I was thinking "boy I wish I was skinny and didn't have to do this" then I got to thinking "what do skinny people do with all that free time, not having to weight in,count calories and all that weight loss stuff." I'm looking forward to the time when I too am skinny and have more free time.

because i go to boarding school, i see what my friends eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and pretty much all the snacks in between.
and pretty much each day revolves around food.
and most of my friends are average/skinny apart from like 3 larger girls.
one of my really good friends hates sports, the only one she does is dance for about 40 minutes every friday, and her fav foods are ice cream, and any dessert, and she will eat. a lot. and not get fat.
and another friend also loves pieing out on those chocolate bars, but is about 5'5 and weighs 100lbs.
all my other friends go to the gym, or participate in some sports.
i have learnt though, that 'naturally skinny' people fidget more. either shaking their leg and/or constantly doing something with their hands, it actually uses up a lot of energy.

i'm not exactly 'fat' at 5'5 115lbs, and until last summer i could eat without thinking about it and stay very slim, although i also kinda abused that, and ate about 3 ice creams from the school shop a day for about 2 months... which made me gain abotu 15lbs... then my mom started calling me fat. so i stopped eating a lot...
people on here have told me i may have an eating disorder now. but that's beside the point. anyways. yeah.

maybe naturally skinny people only crave roasted baby seal with a side of  pan fried unicorn.  and since you canott get that at the store, they stay thin.

i always knew that there was something wrong with the lot of them.

I am skinny now but I was kind of fat when I was a teenager I got into tons of diets and well, found the perfect one which made me get  skinny and I have to say I think all the time in what I eat and in how to not gain weight again, it is not so hard now that I've been in this for a few years, it just comes naturally and it's not that hard anymore to just control what I eat.

Just give it time, it gets easier to be carefull the secret is in realize that food is not that important and just find something that fills you up when you get into a hunger attack, my favorite thing to eat when I am losing control is stir fried vegetables and vegetables with mustard and soy sauce, I eat them as if there was no tomorrow.

my husband is naturally skinny and he just doesn't give that importance to food, maybe because he never got an issue with it, he just doesn't think about it, he just eats when he is hungry, I think all this thing with needing food and getting cravings has to do with how your life has been concerning food.
Hey! I work out to stay skinny. That is what we do :)

Nah I'm kidding. No...I'm telling the truth lol. I work out a lot. I don't overdo it, but when I have free time I go do something active.

jamesn that's pretty funny...lol

maybe skinny people go clothes shopping with all that free time, I know that's what I'm gonna do when I get slim.  I'm gonna spend all day in  the change room trying on clothes and checking myself out in the mirror....you think i'm kiddin but i'm serious.Kiss

I used to be extremely skinny.  105 LB to be exact at 5 feet 6 inches tall.  I was counting calories to gain weight and spent most of my meal time and snack times looking for the most fattening food I could find.  I ate double portions of everything trying to put weight on or at least hold on to what I had.  I believe it is a fallacy that all you have to do is think like a skinny person.  Skinny people have their problems too. My metabolism changed drastically after having children, and several bouts with cortisone medication for asthma really piled the weight on. Now I can't seem to lose any on 1200 cal. a day diet.
that's a funny way to look at it...free time.

Nohbudy- I COMPLETELY understand what you mean!!!!! I have some really skinny friends that eat like crap and are always telling me to eat what I want too-like my one friend is soooooo skinny- about five three and like 105 lbs- today she ate an egg and cheese croissant from Dunkin Donuts, a slice of leftover pizza, a chocolate chip cookie, and a frozen lasagna in the course of like 3 hours. She eats pizza all the time and doesn't think twice, whereas I have one slice and freak out. It's like, come on people, save some for the fishes. All my friends are either like her, or worse than me when it comes to freaking out about food. I was s stick figure all thru high school, and then college destroyed me.

wileyedjokersx- not trying to be critical, but if you think you are even close to be anything resembling 'fat' at 5 5 115 lbs, I think you should talk to some one about this. I am 5 2 and about 123 lbs, and when I was 114 lbs people considered me pretty damn skinny.
when I was skinny I spent a lot of free time laying down.  I stayed skinny from not eating and was tired all the time.........
Let me just say this; SKINNY DOES NOT MEAN HEALTHY.

Well, I think I probably count as a skinny person- 5'2" 110 pounds. What do I do with all my time? I go to the gym 6 days a week to do heavy weight lifting and high intensity interval training. I find healthy recipes and watch what I eat. In fact, all my friends from college are probably size 6 or smaller and they all do the same. I'm sure most people think we can eat whatever we want, but the facts are that we don't! We eat healthy and work out! I don't think there are really that many skinny people that eat lots and don't work out. I used to think two of my friends were like that. Then they tracked their eating for a week and found that their portions were so small that they averaged around 1200 calories a day.

Really. People at my job make comments every time I drink a diet soda or turn down cookies because they think I can "eat whatever" and they never seem to realize that the reason I'm small is because I'm making the hard choices. :-)

sorry to burst anyone's bubble! The less you weigh, the less you can eat or you'll gain it all back, so you can't just go back to what you used to eat when you lose the weight!
Agreed - some people are skinny, but many work at it
Thats what they do with the time. once you get skinny you gotta keep up or it piles back on :)

My uncle's ex wife is one of those naturally skinny people. She actually eats like close to double what someone her size would normally eat just so she can maintain her weight (which is still stick thin after 2 kids) Maybe not literally double but she does have to eat more than normal and she is one of those people that saying "you look like you gained some weight" is actually a compliment. So in her spare time (spare time after kids...HA!) she eats

what??

sorry but no one can be naturally thin in my opinion.

take victoria beckham. Ok shes superslim and probably only just on healthy weight. but its a well known fact that she pretty much eats only fish, salad and like, no carbs and no chocolate, like EVER. She just diets all the flipping time so thats why shes so skinny.

ok...some people may be thin and desperately trying to gain but cant because their metabolism eats every calorie they consume...but they seem to have not a care in the world!!! Weirdly, i think if you are at a healthy weight and you just eat when you are actually hungry and stop when you feel full then you seem to never gain......

naturally skinny ppl...so lucky. Im never gonna be naturally thin, if im ever thin its because of hard efforts!!

Lol
however i can understand why your uncles ex wife is skinny...some women are like that, and so are some men. my dads like that...suupper skinny yet eats pretty much the same as any other guy!
not naturally skinny... but i'm skinny now... even though i weigh more than most people my height... i'm naturally muscular so i always weighed more and need to to look healthy... ANYWAYS... point being that i work out every day and watch every piece of food that goes into my mouth...i have one naturally skinny friend and i'm waiting for the day that she gets over100 lbs, hahaha... but we've been in university for 3 years now.. and she eats all the time...so i may be waiting a while...

I think now that I am more skinny I am more paranoid about watching what I eat than when I was obese and even when I was watching out of fear of gaining back all 115 pounds I lost...I mean now that everyone knows me as a health freak, how the heck would I explain that lol

I am constantly thinking about calories when I eat things and still have to fit in that daily exercise....

when I was heavy I thought the same thing...skinny people have it easy...well they don't lol...at least those who lost a lot of weight to get there....

and I HATE it when people say to me your sooo thin you can eat whatever you want"...I just feel like saying "wanna bet" lol

What I love is when I am at the grocery store and I pick up something that is "light" and a complete stranger says something about how I don't need the "light", well how do you think I got this way?  How do you think I stay this way?  My BMI is 19.5 and I have maintaned for about a year and a half, but it is work.  At 41 years old you have to work at it.

A lot of the time they put a LOT of work into staying thin... very few people are REALLY  'naturally skinny'.
