So I have already eaten almost 1400 calories today because I've been eating cookies for a snack!! I try to keep my calories at 1250 like the site says I should. So now what do I do? should I skip dinner? I've heard skipping meals slows down your metabolism.

dnot do that.it slows ur metabolism down..
just eat a turkey salad or something

I would either eat a light dinner or exercise to burn off the extra calories
I agree with missy81 - either exercise or just have like SE1289 suggested, a turkey salad. :)
You'll be fine. worse case scenario - you messed up today - start fresh tomorrow!

When was your last cookie? Your metabolism shouldn't slow too much if it hasn't been that long by skipping dinner. You can think of the cookies as dinner. A way to keep your metabolism from slowing would be to exercise during the time you would have been eating dinner.
Dont skip! It might slow your metabolism down a bit...can't be much, but I really don't know.
The reason I say don't skip it is because when I have done that, I get ravenous and either end up binging THAT day, or the next. Just have a salad with a little protein. Something light and low-cal. One day, as you probably know, won't hurt you. In fact...sometimes it even helps!
Just get back on track tomorrow and steer clear of the cookies.
Good luck!

Oh, and YES! EXERCISE! It'll keep that metabolism revved, give you a little calorie lee-way, and may even curb your dinner appetite! :)
My last cookie was sometime around 2:30 and then I had a granola bar around 4:00pm. I guess I could count the granola bar as my dinner? I usually eat dinner around 6 or 7.
I wouldn't skip dinner either, like someone else said you might end up binging. I know if I skipped dinner I would be starving by 8:00 and I would eat everything in sight
OMG! That's the same thing that happened to me today! lol
Don't worry- Just eat something very light and before dinner you could possibly exercise. I'm exercising right now because of it... I'm playing fun endless hours of Dance Dance Revolution! haha :p It burns a greaaattt amount of calories.

OMG!! I just got DDR for my B-day unfortunately I haven't got the dance mat yet so I can't play!! :-(
Watch yourself tomorrow and try to consume less calories than normal to make up for the extra ones today... def dont starve for the rest of the night... u kind of already are on a 1250/day diet, so dont worry!
I wouldn't skip dinner. I would just eat something low cal, exercise, and start over tomorrow. As long as you are not going over your maintenance calories, you should be fine. :-)
Skip dinner if you arent hungry....
It WONT slow down your metabolism! That only happens after a few days of something (you can actually skip eating entirely for a day without affecting your metabolism...)

It's easy, when you're hungry, then eat something for dinner. If you messed your count with cookies, just look up what your no gain/no lose daily calorie intake is and try to stay under it for today.
You won't gain weight but you won't lose eather, it's a good deal, I also have such a day once in a while and it won't slow you down that much, it's just a day, ~0,1lbs not lost at best ;)

You can still lose weight and eat dinner tonight. An extra 400 calories is easy to fix over the course of a week. Just cut 50 calories everyday for a week or add some extra exercise. Weight loss isn't a daily thing, it is more of an average over several days.
Or you can not do anything and lose that 1/10 of a pound and be happy losing 9/10s of a pound.
