Should I skip it?

Quote  |  Reply

Sorry for all the recent posts on here jus you guys help out a lot aha.

So here's the delimah this time. Tommorow my mom is going out of town and is ordering pizza for supper. For me pizza is a godly food...I haven't had it in such a long time because eating pizza 4-5 times a week was my problem before and how I got so fat. I have completely gotten it out of my diet and I no longer have an urge to eat that frozen pizza in the freezer. My mom also noticed that I stopped eating them so she stopped buying them. Easy raid of the fridge! Even though there is still frozen pizza and bagel bites in there I completely look the other way when I see it. Yay for me! :] Anyways back on subject. Like I said tommorow my mom is ordering a pizza. The only problem is that I recently indulged my self in some ice cream(Vanilla Frozen Yogurt to be exact :P) 4 days ago and I had WAY more then I needed to have. So should this mean I should just skip the pizza and have a different meal? I could do that....Or do you think it would be okay if I had 2 or 3 slices of pizza?

Oh and incase if you are wondering I am ordering from a local buissness called Chanellos. Here's there website. www.chanellospizza.com Unfortunally they don't have nutrion facts.... But I would only be eating the cheese pizza. No fatty meats on mine.  :o

One or two slices of pizza is fine if it's part of your calorie allowance.  Perhaps you can make yourself a large, fresh green salad to eat with it.  BTW... ask your mother to only order one small pizza between you.  Then you're less likely to be going back for seconds and thirds

(Oh yes... cheese is 10x fattier than lean meat.  Just so as you know)

I kinda can't do that cause there are 2 other people in the house as well who need to eat. So my mom orders 2 large pizza's. But I can control myself thats not what I am worried about. Also the salad is a great idea!

Also yeah I know cheese is fattening but its better then having the cheese AND lean meats ya know?

So you think it will be okay to eat the pizza even though I overundulged myself into ice cream a couple nights ago?

it's fine

i mean you have to eat dinner anyhow and pizza is not the worse thing you can eat [assuming you don't eat the entire thing]

it's actually pretty balanced [bread, veggies, meat, dairy]

i agree with making a big salad to go with it... also if possible order one of the pizzas to be vegetarian with maybe light cheese

or if other people in the house don't want it maybe get half that way..

or just order half the pizza with tons of veggies

also you could eat healthy the rest of the day

but really i wouldn't worry too much even if it's a meatlovers pizza, a couple pieces aren't going to ruin your diet

just don't overeat

Unfortunately I will not be aloud to get a customized pizza like that......If I had it I would order a small thin crust, Go light on the cheese, and add more sauce.

Also yeah I think its a great idea to have a salad before eating the pizza. Also of course I am going to be eating healthy for the rest of the day. This is just dinner! aha. I am going to do some extra cardio and try to lower the calories a bit in my earlier meals.

I am just really worried because I had all that frozen yogurt and now a couple days later I am going to be having pizza....

i get your concern

maybe it's not so much this one time of eating pizza but you're worried that if you say 'oh pizza is fine cause it's just one time'... 'oh frozen yogurt is fine cause it's just one time'.. then you'll fall off the wagon

i think maybe you SHOULD skip it.. not for the reason that it would ruin your diet and make you gain a significant amount of weight, but just for your own personal growth in being able to pass it up.

Maybe just fix yourself a nice fancy salad and some other food that you normally do eat as part of your diet.. maybe something that goes well with pizza so you could share it around that night.

i think it's fine to eat 'junk food' now and again.. but it is dangerous if it becomes a daily thing

Thanks for the reply.

Also yeah thats it. But I wouldn't even mind treating my self to some pizza if it was in a couple more days. I just feel like another cheat meal would be bad.

Well looks like I am going to be starred at again cause I am not having the pizza and making a salad instead. Damn frozen yogurt :/ I need to get that crap out of my house cause when I do eat it I always over do it.

Also I agree with you with the junkfood comment. Like everyone says moderation is the key.

maybe in a couple of days you can do what i do

get some whole wheat bread [pita bread works great]

put pizza toppings on it and put it in the oven

you can drizzle a little olive oil, grill some vegetables, use some tomato or pesto sauce, maybe some fresh basil and then top it off with some feta cheese or some light mozza cheese

I make my own pizza too and recently I`ve found a website that said you can make it in a pan too. And it does work! Regular pizza dough (flour, water, yeast), only after rising and shaping it instead of sticking it in the oven you cook it in a non-stick pan (sprayed lightly). Medium heat, 4 minutes on one side, flip, add toppings, cook another 4 minutes or until cheese has melted and voila!

Is your concern that you don't want to go over your average calories for the week?  Pizza (particularly 1-2 slices) isn't going to make or break your week.  It has calories, but so does everything.  I ate two pieces of pizza on Saturday last AND drank a bit of my kids' chocolate shake at dinner and still didn't go (too) much over my calorie allotment because I ate light the rest of the day (lots of fruits and veggies).  So, since you have a few days to plan, figure out how many calories you'll need for two pieces of pizza, and plan out the rest of your day accordingly.  Here's one idea: breakfast with high-fiber cereal and a banana (both will fill you up), an entire bag of frozen mixed vegetables tossed with 1 tbsp parmesean cheese for lunch followed by a turkey sandwich on whole grain bread with mustard and no cheeze, then two slices of pizza accompanied by a large veggie salad with kidney beans (for iron) drained and tossed over top, accompanied by a dressing of balsamic vineager mixed with dill, basil, and brown mustard.  Total calories: about 1400 for the day.

Eat the salad first, drink a glass of water and chat for five minutes, then eat your two slices of pizza.  Savor every bite, all the while patting yourself on the back that you have done such a good job managing your food.  You will feel happy and satisfied when you're done.

Definitely just eat it. Its one meal, one day.  I get what thin girl is saying, but mot everyone thinks in those terms.  Some people can say "its just this one time" and really mean it without constantly using that excuse. And you sound like you've pretty good control over your diet.

My vote is to enjoy your pizza! I think if you're going to be unhealthy though you should add some veggies. I hate the pizza and salad combination, personally. I would, if I were you, either ask for veggie pizza or cut your own vegetables for your slices. Spinach, olives, onion, bell pepper, whatever you like. I know that not everyone likes vegetable pizza, so making your own might be the best compromise. Plus, if you put so many veggies on it the slice is completely covered, you're getting a good partial serving!

Enjoy yourself! Just limit it to 2 big slices or 3 little ones.  Then either have something healthy (such as a salad) or weight an hour, then decide if you're really still hungry, or if you're just craving another piece.
