Should I skip the Thanksgiving feast?
Okay so i've been binging for the past 3 weeks! I mean literally, eating over 2000-4000 calories : / And today was actually the first day I haven't binged.
And my family doesn't really do anything special for Thanksgiving, so I thought i'd be okay. But my friend invited me over to celebrate with them.
Well I've known their family for years and I know there's going to be tons of food. And i don't want to go and not eat anything, cause that would be rude.
Should I just eat good monday-wednesday and indulge thursday, again?
Or since i've been binging, i need to let my stomach shrink back, and skip the meal?

Thanksgiving is once a year. If you can control yourself until then, then by all means, indulge. Just make sure to get back on track Friday! On Thursday, allow yourself a little bit of everything you want. Don't overdo it. And go for a walk afterwards, or play a little two-hand touch! Holidays are for enjoying yourself.
If you eat too many calories, try to balance it out with a little bit of exercise. Even if it's just 25 crunches, every little bit helps.
Congratulations on making it through today without bingeing, now keep it up! One day won't kill you. Just don't let it turn into every day! Good luck!
The past few weeks are just that, the past.
If I were you I would start eating well TODAY and then enjoy Thanksgiving. Maybe hold back a little if you feel the need, you know....have one dessert, drink water instead of soda. Little things so that you can still enjoy the day.
Just don't go crazy. Take small first portions of everything you want, and wait after you finish your plate, drink a full glass of water, and see if you really want more. If you do, go take a little more, but just don't go too crazy. Eat more turkey than sides, etc.
Just try to get yourself back to normal as much as possible so Thursday isn't such a blow to your habits and get right back on track after. If possible, you could eat light for the rest of your meals that day. (This doesn't affect me, but some people can't do this without becoming ravenous the next day.)
Cardinal rule if you overdo things is to go back to your normal diet as soon as possible. Don't skimp or be tempted to skip meals by way of compensation because that only leaves you hungry and more likely to binge next time around. If you were losing weight on 1500... go back to 1500.
And never turn down a social event because you're on a diet. Part of losing weight is learning how to deal with social occasions where there is a lot of food. If your only strategy is 'abstinence' you may get thinner but life would be pretty miserable and antisocial. If you take a small amount of everything on offer... more veggies, less pumpkin pie or whatever there is... that would be the smart decision. You don't have to pile up your plate like a starving labourer.... Think 'dainty', think 'ladylike'... you'll be just fine.
I agree completely with GI Jane. The biggest reason for which I am currently pursuing an ED-free lifestyle is the amount of isolation I impose on myself because of my fears. Thanksgiving is about being with your family and friends and sharing the love and comfort. If you miss out on that because you're afraid of screwing up, you'll regret it and grow to resent yourself. Just eat until you're full and stop, and focus more on the people around you than the food.
