To anyone who has used skipping as a cardio exercise. Can it help burn fat from your midsection/love handles? I'm near my goal weight but have still got some squidgy bits around my middle. I read somewhere 10 mins of skipping is equivalent to 20 mins running. Any advice, routines I can follow etc.

Cheers!

Um, well I'm not sure about the 10 to 20 thing on running vs skipping. I guess it depends on how fast you run and how fast you skip.   Either one if done enough times your body will get more efficient at it (burning less calories). I would do both if you like both.

I use skipping as a warm up, using both feet, one foot, skipping side ways, going forwards and backwards.  You can change your arm positions, my forearms get some exercise too. There are a few skipping workouts out there to experiment with.

Skipping will surely help you burn fat, but no exercise can burn fat in any particular spot.
