Skippy Natural Peanut Butter
For all you peanut butter lovers out there:
Everymorning I have a wheat english muffin with peanut butter on it and it helps keep me full thru out the day. But just recently in my local Shop Rite I saw that Skippy now sells All Natural Peanut Butter so I gave it a try.
I have tried other all natural brands (these you have to stir the oil and immediatly put in the fridge. This one you dont.
But anyway, this peanut butter (skippy Natural) tastes so good and just like the normal reg one. I just thought you all would want to know its out there and tastes great.

Whats so special about it? Care to share the nutrition info?
Although it has a little bit of sugar and is a Grade C here on the website, this peanut butter is better than the regular one I would eat which has more fat and calories.
And it will keep me full until around 1:30pm which is my lunch time at work. And remember that the fat in peanut butter is the good fat. I only use 2 tables spoons.
I've been tempted to try this when I saw it at the grocery store, but I just can't pry myself away from my favorite: Peter Pan Peanut Butter. I only use around 2 servings a week tops, so maybe when I pick up more (in a month and a half from now) I'll give the All Natural stuff a try.
I prefer Smucker's Natural Peanut butter even though you have to keep it in the fridge. It only has two ingredients: peanuts and salt. I was tempted to try Skippy Natural until I saw that they add sugar and palm oil.
Smucker's Natural:

I just might give this one a try. I dont care if I have to refridgerate it if its going to be better for me. Thanks for the tip.

Along the same lines, Jif makes a natural peanut butter that you don't need to stir or keep in the refrigerator but it is creamy and delish! It does have 3g of sugar per serving (190 calories per 2 tbsp) as opposed to Smuckers 1g but I think the conveinence of being able to keep it at my desk with me at work - a spread on an apple, banana or plain rice cake makes a more filling and nutrious snack!
I know the jar says to refrigerate natural peanut butter (the ones that separate)... but I don't. I eat it regularly and I don't refrigerate it. And it keeps just fine... just not quite as long as if you put it in the fridge.
However, I've never had it spoil on me. :D
Hi, njsally. I agree with bier regarding the Smucker's peanut butter. In California, I think it's Laura Scudder (made by Smucker). But, it's really good. In fact, I had to give my jar to my brother because I was eating too much of it. Anyway, just thought I'd put in my two cents worth. Give it a try; I think you'll like it. ![]()

Good to know! Next jar won't be going in the fridge!
I'm a fan of the Whole Foods Market brand of peanut butter, 365. It's natural, the ingredients are peanuts and salt (90 mgs in 1 oz, and you can get it unsalted too). I don't mind stirring it up the when I first open the jar because it doesn't separate again.
I use the smuckers too. But I pour the oil out when I first open the jar. Something about the yellowness of the oil freaks me out. I keep mine in the pantry too. It is a little tough to spread without the oil... about the same as the natural pb that you grind yourself.
Has anyone tried the smart balance Peanut butter with the omega 3 acids in it? I just saw an ad for them in Self.

Me, too. I tried it in the frig, but it was too difficult too spread. I keep it in the cupboard, and it's dee-lish! Doesn't go bad.
I LOVE Smucker's Natural Reduced Fat Peanut Butter - have it several times a week. Did you know it's spectacular in banana yogurt? What a great snack!
I have tried the Smart Balance peanut butter. I think it was "okay". I am trying JIF'S Natural now... I like it more and it is cheaper!!!
i recommend everybody get PRESIDENT'S CHOICE BLUE MENU foods
they are sold at superstores and are made by dieticians and are always really healthy and also really cheap as they are store name
the natural peanut butter they carry has no salt/no sugar and is 100 calories/tbsp
and tastes great!... really creamy and flavorful
If you're looking for a natural peanut butter brand you can store in the fridge and DOES NOT become all stiff and dry, I'd suggest using the Trader Joe's brand. It's still just as creamy as it would be if you left it out but without worrying about it getting rancid, (this has happened to me before so it does indeed happen!). Mmm now I want some, darn! :-p
I live in Italy and we can get Skippy here for about $5 for the smallest jar imaginable. They have a few Dutch brands that are pretty good. But lately I've been making my own using a bit of peanut butter and natural or dry roasted peanuts. It's really easy and you get fantastic peanut butter (chunky or moderately chunky) without the added sugars and oils.
p.s. It doesn't last long enough at our house to worry about it getting rancid....

I like President's Choice Organic natural pb, also just peanuts (no salt or sugar added). I find it a little less bitter or something compared to their blue menu one...but blue menu is my second choice when they're out of the Organic.
Just had a piece of toast with some on it 5 min ago...soooo goood!
