Slices of apple with peanut butter & carrots with ranch?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey everyone,

I I'm really not a "veggie" person, I just can't stand them AT ALL (e.g. broccoli, celery, etc.) except for carrots.

So I was wondering, would slices of apples dipped in a little bit of peanut butter & carrots dipped in ranch be a good snack?

And also, about how many slices of apples and how many pieces / slices of carrots would be good amount?

Thanks everyone!

If you have any other ideas for snacks, please let me know :)

It's better than eating a donut or something!  The PB is good esp if you use the real kind (vs. the kind with a bunch of additives - corn syrup, etc), ranch is less so.  Log into your food log and see what the calories are.

Apples and peanut butter are a great snack! Natural, no-sugar-added peanut butter is more better than say, Skippy, but peanut butter in general isn't too bad compared to Twinkies. :P The carrots would be better for you with some hummus, however. Have you ever had hummus? It contains fiber, protein, and healthy fats...it's a lot more nutritious than ranch dressing and it contains fewer additives. It comes in a BUNCH of flavors and it's quite delicious! You can make your own hummus, too....Google has many recipes. Carrots and peanut butter are good, too!!

Sounds pretty good, actually.  You might try making some yogurt dip instead of the ranch(yogurt with spices), and the natural, unsweetened type of peanut butter.

Have you tried grilling vegetables?  Brush a little olive oil on squash, asparagus, red, green or yellow peppers, green beans, yams, onions.  Wrap them in foil and throw them on the grill.  My son hates raw and steamed vegetables, but he will eat most of them grilled.  And type in "roasted broccoli" in a web search and see what you find.  The same son will eat broccoli cooked this way.  Puree veggies and throw them in soups as a thickener, you won't even taste them. You need your veggies, girl.
