Slightly confused about post deletion.
I've no idea if this should go here - but this kinda got my goat, so to speak. I recently got an email about how my post was deleted, saying:
"Deleted, against posting guidelines. Eating under 1500-1800 for a teen is forbidden. [...]"
I couldn't find anywhere on the site that said eating under that is forbidden, after a good hour and a half of searching around.
Does anyone know where it mentions that.. 'forbidden' thing? If at all?
EVERYWHERE. Seriously. Everywhere. Check the topics that pop up on the side panel as you browse the site; there are about five people or more each day eating too few calories, and the mods just have to repeat themselves over and over again. However, I agree it should be stated in settings. It's possible they don't want young people to join, but that isn't enforced and that's not the way to go about it, really. I'm triggered by numbers alone to undereat. Numbers, pictures, food, certain words, looks... yeah. When I see people having sucesses, I can't help myself, even with a knowledge of how damaging it is to a growing body, and deleting your post may have been the quickest resolution.
EDIT: Here's one I saw immediately after reading this. Not quite the same, but you see- http://caloriecount.about.com/sure-calculator -follow-ft143680
:)
Ahh, I see. XD Okay. That kinda clears it up for me and makes it less offensive than originally thought.
Thanks for the referance too.
I understand the triggers, too. ): But everyone's different in how their body works. Oh well. I'll just have to try to watch what I say, lol.
When you post, scroll down under the text box to see the Posting Guidelines. They clearly state that "Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited."
Read them all. You agreed to abide by them just by posting, and you further agreed to the About.com Terms of Service (TOS) when you joined Calorie Count.
Starvation dieting is unhealthy and posts about undereating have an adverse affect on people trying to recover from eating disorders. So please don't suggest undereating. We can't offer you any support if you insist on an inadequate diet, and those posts are subject to deletion.
