any one ever try the Slim Fast? I been On a strict calorie intake of 1250-1350daily with My slim fast shakes...SO far I have loast 4.3lbs and I been on since sunday. I am posting my weight every friday. Start weight 199lbs looking to loose 60lbs.

anyone  have any comments about the slim? SO far its been great for me

What kind of supplement do you mean?
If you are looking for a multi-vitamin, I really like One a Day Weight Smart. :)
a weight loss supplement to combine with your diet....
I tried Slim Fast - it did not seem filling to me.  I am now using GNC Lean Shakes - similar to Slim Fast, but it is oat based and is 180 Cals, vitamin fortified and fills me up so much I can't even think of eating for at least an hour or two after drinking one.  It is almost like it swells up inside me.  It has 36% daily fiber per serving!
fiber is good because it makes u feel full, I may have to try that.

SlimFast low-carb has guar gum, which is a soluble fiber that's used in a lot of things.  You can buy it for cooking and add it to food to up the fiber content as well as thicken gravies, etc.  The low-carb SlimFast fills me up well.  I don't know if the other versions have this; when I've tried them (the Optima, for instance, which, blech) they haven't seemed as thick or filling.  Try the low-carb if you're using another version and you don't feel full after drinking.  I easily go several hours after drinking one without hunger.

I'm entirely against "diet aids", I don't trust them and don't believe they're safe or effective.  Green tea is supposed to be both helpful and healthy; you might try drinking a couple of cups of unsweetened green tea per day and see how you feel.

I'm just wondering if any of you are still doing the "Slim Fast" diet. I recently started drinking a shake for breakfast and lunch and I'm just curious if you are still having success with it!

I am, and it's still working very well.  I'm down 32 lbs, so far and still losing, and haven't been significantly ill in a long time.  I love it.  :)
I have been using Slim-Fast for 9 months.  I have lost more than 85 pounds.  I love the cappucino flavor, as I am not big on sweets, so I don't like the vanilla/chcolate/strawberry stuff.

It only took about a week for my body to adjust to the liquids instead of solids.  As a matter of fact, I drink only liquids at least one day a week.  It feels really good, as long as I make sure that I get 1300 calories worth of Naked Green Machine each day.

I have never eaten breakfast or lunch, so I would gobble food all night.  the SF shakes make it so I keep full all day.  Plus, I look at it as "fuel", not a taste treat.  My food issue is how much I love the taste and feel of foods, so I am learning to eat to live, not live to eat.
Vendicare, I LOVE the Naked Green Machine! and the orange carrot too! I'm going to have to try and find them here...the Naked Juices were everywhere when I loved in Seattle, now I'm in NY {upstate/central} and I can only think of one health food store that might carry them :)

I buy mine at Sam's Club, of all places!  I just love it, and it really keeps me full on my juice days.  I find that it is really helping me think about food as fuel, not a hobby!

okay i stopped, because everything around my house was just caous, Im now back to my plan I joined the golds gym saturday and had a 3 hour work out yesterday and having my slim for lunch this time I should get better results because I will be incorperating exersice which before it was just dieting

 

any new updates with my slimsters?.... my sis might join the slim team!

Hi Everyone!!! I am new to CCP & to slim fast - i did it about 15 years ago, when I was in high school. Now I am married, and have two kids, and decided to start again. I couldn't deal with Weight Watchers anymore, and grabbing the shakes has been fantastic, at least for the last two days. I'm nervous, though, about the weekends! When my husband is around, he wants to go out & get sandwiches & go to places like Panera (which I loooooove) so I think that is going to be tough, but I am really trying to stick with it. I have the shakes for breakfast & lunch (love the french vanilla & strawberry), and a muffin snack bar in the AM, and I'm trying to eat more fruit - oranges, apples, pears. I have a question - does anyone know if there are any calories in a cup of hot green tea? I could seem to find on the site.  Thanks!!!! I'll keep you all posted. Oh, BTW, I am trying to lose 75 lbs. Wish me luck, and good luck to all of you!!!!

I had a descent work out last night. Im thinking for the amount of weight Im trying to loose by changing your eating habit and drinking ur slimfast, I think I should do cardio for like at least 3 months and then cordinate the strength training...because the cardio will burn the fat as oppose to jumping into the strength training and it just building muscle

 

what do u think?

whats on your menu for today? my breakfast was eggs toast coffee and a sausage....I didn't go to the gym last night...but I am going tonight...I could work out almost everyday Im only doing Cardio right now...but my sis says thats not good for u, to work out every day...

Hi everyone!!!

 I am new to ccp but not new to slimfast... slimfast was the only thing that got me down to my goal weight (135 - I'm 5'10" with skinny bones) after my second child... lol, and then I went and had 2 more babies after that!  While I was able to lose all the weight between children 3 and 4 (soooo funny to talk about my darlin's like that!) I haven't been able to lose that last 10 pounds to this day.  But, I wasn't as committed then as I am now (I got a divorce and am now dating a new guy and I guess now I want to look totally HOT this summer! lol)  So I've started with the Slimfast (I hate eating early in the morning so slimfast is AWESOME for that) but the lunch time thing is rough.  I drank a slimfast this am (7:30 am) and now it's quarter to 10 and I am having an apple and 2 glasses of water.  I plan on working out around 10:15 or 10:30 for an hour - half an hour alternating running and walking on a steep incline on the treadmill and followed by free weights (10 pounds each) to do arms and back... and some floor exercises. 

 the only problem I face is I am ravenous after working out!!!  So, I brought in a slimfast for lunch, then an orange around 2, and then a bag of microwave popcorn  around 3 with my precious diet coke which I am allowed two a day.  Also I tend to be a late night eater but thanks to this forum I will not eat any closer than 2 hours before bedtime.

I really want this last 10 to MELT off... then I'll only do the sf in the morning.  if I gain I can go back to two a day... but it's actually pretty easy to maintain if I make a concious effort to do so.

The only fad diet I have ever done and the only time I have ever fainted.  Went to the gym between my lunchtime shake and before my "sensible dinner" body couldn't cope (too much sugar and not enough salt) and I was unable to regulate my temperature - going from cold outside to hot working out to cooling down to the hot shower - body gave up.

I don't think that they are a completely awful thing if you have a substantial amount of weight to lose - they do have vitamins in, but just be careful, and add some proper food and nutrition into your day.

Also, are you going to continue on slim fast forever?  How will you sustain when you get to your goal weight and have to incorporate real food again?

yes, I do plan on keeping with the shakes in the morning -lol, though I hate the word "forever" just as I hate the word "diet" (they seem mean, and ominous to me!!!)  Now, I don't know that I'll just do slimfast, I might try the GNC shakes mentioned early with the high fiber.  As I mentioned before, I can't eat food early in the am - it makes me sick so the shakes are perfect for me.  Also, if you look them up on here, they get an "A" grade.  :)  works for me!!

sorry about your unpleasant experience though!  I think the hardest thing about getting in shape and losing weight is that there is not one thing is right for everyone... totally depends on the individual.  Too bad.  I wish there was!!!
