Has anyone tried the optima snack bars from Slim-fast?  I'm just wondering because I had an older type (not from the optima line), and it tasted like garbage.  It was supposed to be chocolate and peanuts with nougat and caramel, but there were no peanuts, the nougat was tough and stretchy, and the chocolate barely tasted like chocolate.  Are the optima bars better?

I must confess - I have not tried these, but I just did a quick search on Google and found some good reviews. Check out www.epinions.com.  You might find some more.

Sorry I couldn't help more.
Have a great day!

I love the slim fast bars. My favorite is the chocolate cookie dough bar. My mom doesn't care for that kind though. I tried the peanut nougat one and it wasn't a favorite. I also love the chocolate chip one, and the peanut butter crisp. I think they taste pretty good.
ya they kick ass i love the cookie dough and strawberry cheesecake
Ugh, those bars are all gritty and icky. They taste better than the old ones but they still taste gross.
I heard that Slim-Fast stuff isn't even that good for you anyway.

they are very tasty.  I may have to stop buying them because I can't limit myself to 2 a day.  There so tasty I've eaten 4 a day.  I think I can limit myself to 3 today.  Those bar are very tasty.
I have tried them. I think one tastes like a butter finger and the other a snickers. I don't buy them because I don't have a lot of sweet cravings.

I have both of those, the butterfinger type and the snickers type, and they're both good. A little TOO good. I doubt they're very healthy for you, concidering that theyre CHOCOLATE bars. I guess its a good alternative to potato chips or a candybar, but i doubt it had any nutritional value, and is just stuffed with carbs and sugar.

Anyone know anything about these being unhealthy?

LOVE the peanut butter crisp - tastes just like a butterfinger!  Def wouldn't call them healthy, but nice little treat...

Most of these types of snack bars aren't what you'd call unhealthy... they're just the same as any other biscuit really i.e. OK as an occasional treat but not to be treated as a dietary staple.   "There are no bad foods, only bad diets" etc.

My favorite is the strawberry cheesecake one. They're all really sweet though.
