Slim in Six - has anyone tried it?

Quote  |  Reply

Hi everyone!

I'm new here and am wondering if any of you have ever tried Slim in Six? It's a work out program advertised on television. I don't even care if I lose the inches and pounds as quickly as advertised - I just want some good dvd's to exercise with at home. If anyone has tried any other dvd's that they feel are good, please let me know!

I have been eating with a weight watchers point program for several weeks and using a gazelle every day but I want to be doing more so I'm setting a spare room up as a home gym (with a tv for working out to dvds or vhs tapes).

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions!

Shelley

Lucky you with the home gym.  What is a gazelle?

Hi Sandy,

A gazelle is a very simple machine and I bought one off of craigslist for only $30 and I really enjoy it. But I interested in knowing about the slim in six program - have you done it?

Here is a link to a utube commercial for the gazelle.

Hi Shelley,

I now know what a gazell is.  It looks fun.  Do you do it all the time?  Is it like walking on clouds?  Or flying?

I am afraid I have not heard of the Six by Six.  I have heard people that do Tae Bo lose weight pretty quickly.  I heard it was petty hard/strenuous.

If you get more information, please let me know.

Good luck!

Sandy

I havent heard of 6 in 6 but I have been using  Jillian Michaels Shred.  I really like it because it's only 20 minutes.  I am not an exercise addict and have to talk myself into it some days, so when I first started, it was easier to convince myself to do 20 minutes.  Its a tough workout, but you can complete the activities at your own level of exertion and still get benefits.  I dont do level 3 because its too much jumping, but I like the first 2 levels.  Good luck!

I agree........wow, to have your own home gym!  Never heard of 6 in 6 either, but have several of the Biggest Loser dvds and Core Rhythms.  both have workouts that are about 20-25 minutes.  CR is good if you don't like getting on the floor to workout.  It's all done 'on your feet'....but, you have to like a latin beat.  Keep it up..........

I haven't heard of Core Rhythms, but I do love a latin beat.  Does it involve dancing, like wiggling and shaking, I'm not too good at that, I wish I was.

I wouldn't exactly call it dancing.....although there are steps involved that one of the 'teachers' is always saying 'you can take it to the club!'  They do like to get you wiggling and shaking......I try, but can't keep up with it.  They do it to beats like Samba, Rumba, Marange (spl?), Paso Doble, etc.  It really is a fun way to exercise.....and, they do have a dvd included that gives you a couple of beginning dance lessons.  There's a lot of hip action involved, that's for sure!

As a person who has always been stiff, maybe some hip action is what I need,Wink  to loosen me up.

I think I'll go to the video store and have a look.  Is it costly?  I have some dvd's that I have used but none with the Latin beat, which would be a change.

I purchased it one day thru a tv infomercial......I hate watching them because I so easily get roped into them........and this one caught me.  I think it cost me about $50.....but that included extra this & extra that to lure me in....I'm sure it can be found a lot cheaper than that.  A friend of mine gets a lot of exercise tapes on Ebay or Amazon for next to nothing.  Hope you find it........it is a great change from most exercise dvds.

We take ballroom dance classes which includes the rumba, cha cha, etc.  If there is anything like that where you are........I would highly recommend it.  We have had so much fun at class and the weekly dances the studio holds....and it is really good exercise.  We never expect to be "Dancing with the Stars" or even "So You Think You Can Dance" experts, but for a fun night out it is well worth the time and money...........and you can show off the moves at weddings!Laughing

That does sound like it could be fun.  I'm not sure what is offered in my area.  But, I will sure look into it.

Thanks for the Amazon and E bay ideas.  That had never occured to me.

Good luck with your weight loss efforts; and drop me a line from time to time, and I'll do the same.
