Slimming World UK

Quote  |  Reply
Just wondering if anyone on CC attends or follows the UK diet slimming world

I followed this diet and lost 70lb - I have put some back on when I quit smoking and am thiniking of trying to follow the diet again - but hopefully this time without attending classes

I would love to meet others who have had success on that plan so we can perhaps share tips :)

CONGRATS! Do you think it's better than weightwatchers then? I'm just curious since I don't need to lose weight at the moment.  Is it easy to follow? I've figured out how to do the WW system but don't know how the SW one works.  Oh sorry no tips! I'm just being nosey x
Well I found it SO much easier than WW to follow
there are two basic plans the original sometimes called red and the green

you can eat which ever you want each day - I tend to do green days as they are better for vegetarians
green days are higher carb original higher protein

there are lists of foods - which you can eat as much as you like from - then there is a list of healhy extras which need to be weighed and you get 3-4 a day
then all foods NOT on those two lists has a value and you need to set the value of those foods that will work for you I usually stick to between 5-10

NOW I seem to have made it sound complicated - but really its not and you can eat SO much it really is something that is healthy and easy to folllow
Is it a bit like Weightwatchers No Count/Core plan? Thanks x
hi viviane,

i do actually attend a slimming world meeting every week and ive lost nearly a stone but i must admit i do prefer to count good ol' calories. it allows me more flexibility in my meals and i dont have to stress too much about whether it fits in with the green or the red plan. i do think it's a fab plan tho as it forces you to eat 'clean' food and thats what i'm concentrating on still myself, clean not processed food.

sorry that wasnt really what ur looking for lol but just thought id let you know ;-)

I lost about 70lb with Slimming world too, then I went on my own for a bit, joined Weight Watchers when I plateaued and am back on my own again having lost a further 35lb. I'm thinking of going back to SLimming World soon to get back into good eating habits as I've been cutting my calories way down and eating stupidly which has actually caused me a small weight gain!
