Slipped up last night and now feel very unmotivated, support?

I've been eating healthily and exercising for a good 3 months now and was pelased with the results. However, due to exams and revision around May, I put a lot of weight back on. Since coming home from uni last Thursday, I've been eating healthily, going jogging and doing fitness workouts every day and was feeling very good about myself even if I hadn't lost a huge amount of weight yet.

However, last night I went to a friends house. I took a healthy snack with me incase I did feel hungry, but she was eating crisps and sweets. I lost all my will power, ignored my healthy snack, and helped her out instead!

I now feel really upset with myself, I feel bloated and whale like, and in general just am not motivated anymore.

Has this happened to anyone else and how can I prevent these slip ups and motivate myself again? I know it's only been a week, but the size I feel now just makes me think it's pointless even trying to lose weight!

Today is a new day! Continue with your healthier eating choices, drink plenty of water and get in your exercise and the bloate will probably be gone tomorrow!  I used to slip up quite a bit...you know like every weekend.  Except because I overeat so badly, my 'slip ups' were costing me ALL progress made during the weekdays.  I just had to become more conscious of what my bad food choices were doing to my body (bloated feeling, digestive issues, etc.) and use that as motivation to make better choices.  I've been doing pretty well for about a little over a month now.  I've had maintenance days but nothing extreme.  Also, just be sure that you are getting the calories you need and plenty of rest to support your activity level.  Good luck!

lbh said it all!  Forgive yourself and move on.  We all have a day where temptation wins us over.  That is just human nature.  Like lbh said, drink lots of water to flush the sodium out from the chips, maybe go for an extra long walk today to get the system moving again.  You will be fine.  You can continue to have success.  You just have to say yes.

Life is too short not to have a few treats now and again.  The fact you feel so crappy now means you probably wont pig out again for a long time.  You had a bit of a blow out, so what!!  How boring would life be if you couldnt have a bit of a treat now and again.  Just be kind to yourself, accept you had a great night with your friend and you are back on to your normal diet.  There are so many things in life to feel guilty about, this is definately not one of them.  Good luck xx

I know where you're coming from but don't beat yourself up about it! It's okay. Keep working out and eating right!!

On the weekends I feel like sucha slacker. Sometimes I have treats that I wouldn't normally eat during the week. But so what! As long as it's not a constant issue then it'll be okay. It's what you do in the long run that matters.

My guilty pleasure is a COKE with some cheez its party mix..If I have to have a Coke, I'll just take a few sips and get rid of the rest. At least it quenches my craving and I don't feel guilty later! Hope this helps!

Just because you slipped up ONE NIGHT is NOT the end of the world.  I have "momentary slips" ALL the time...when I just can't help myself and "need" some Lindt Lindor Truffles. LOL!  I enter the calorie count on my daily chart (and yep...this site does list Lindt Lindors!) and then I just make sure that everything else I eat that day is "good".  So you slipped up. BIG DEAL! It's NOT unfixable. I know...I've been through the same thing.  I lost 83 lbs. over a period of about 14 months...then I got carried way with pita chips and chocolate for a couple of months and gained back 25 lbs. BUT...When I hit the "make it or break it point" (as in, I was only ONE POUND short of 190!) then I got BACK on the horse and started AGAIN. It's really not about the slip-ups...it's about the successes! Do well by yourself today and tomorrow by eating what you know you should. With a new commitment, you'll be feeling better about yourself in NO TIME! Smile Remember...Life is a journey, not a destination.
