i say eat slow &savor your food. youll be more satisfied that way! :)
i guess that's more of a psychological affect, though helpful, i'm inquiring about the phyisical aspects
Gooodness, I eat WAY too fast. I eat as if there's no tomorrow and yet, there always is. Its something I need to work on. Instead, I just shovel it in and don't think about my food like one's supposed to.

I'm always hungry. I like to eat my whole meal at once, and then sit and savour the feeling of being full with a cup of tea. Even when I think I eat "slowly' I'm always the first, or one of the first, people done at my table.
My boyfriend can take almost an hour to eat a plate of food. To me, if the food is there, I must eat it, and I cannot stop thinking about it. I wish I were as apathetic towards eating as he is, because then I'd probably be as skinny as he is.
sometimes i'll eat something real slow, but that'd be like a peice of chocolate :D
OMG. Me and my bf are the exact same way. I outweigh him.
He doesn't seem to care about food. Sometimes I will get all excited about something, and he'll be like 'it was alright I guess'. I don't get it. I mean does he not taste how great the spices and cheeses blend together? How perfectly toasted the bun was? Than I realize that I am being super greedy again. And I get jealous that he can still savor his food and mine is all gone, and I have sauce all over my face.
I tell him we need a happy middle. He is borderline too small, cause he is apathetic about food. He can go for 5+ hours before he gets hungry. At 4...my mood starts to change and I start to feel crappy. I have to work on slowing down really, because sometimes I get excited over certain foods, and don't realize how much and fast I ate until Istand up and my stomach hurts (disgusting isn't it? lol)
I tried eating slow a couple of times, and timing myself to see if my body did signal I was full after 20 minutes. The truth is, it did, around 20 minutes. One time it was about 22 minutes, the other time about 18 minutes. So, there is truth to this fact that if you eat slow enough, and chew your food, and savor what it is you are eating, your body will signal full in about 20 minutes.
i try to make it last about 20 to 30 minutes
