Games & Challenges

Well, I am not sure if this group will even appeal to anyone, and I am not looking for too many people who will be up for this. If no one signs up, no biggie -- but I am wondering if there is anyone out there who, like me, is more interested in losing just a little bit each week, but being able to stay on track longer!

My "goal" is to lose 0.5 lbs per week. I could lose more, who knows, but if I lose just 0.5 per week I will be more than happy. This challenge is going to go for eight (8) weeks!

Starting weight (for the challenge):

Weigh ins will take place on Saturdays -- If you forget, it's cool, just update your weight when you remember or wait until the next week. This group is about support and encouragement about sticking with it -- not about pulling huge numbers.

My goal is to get to 110, but I'm sure it will take longer then for how the challenge is going to last for. I apparently hadn't weighed since Feb 16th! Ha Ha.  I've been eating to maintenance, A LOT.Undecided

Doesn't anyone else hate how the burn meter goes down as you lose weight? Less to eat and less burned during a workout! *pouts. Ha Ha.Tongue out

Keep up the great work everyone! We can do this. Slow and Steady. Wink

Since January 1st I have loss 8.5 pounds, but I yo-yo between 272 and 264.

Hey guys!

I am so excited that people are coming by to write in their numbers. Today I randomly weighed in at 149.6. Very strange! I wonder if it'll hold out for Saturday lol Talk about a wonky bod.

What do you guys think of that exercise challenge thing? I was thinking I might start doing a weekly "exercise-challenge" to see if I can't meet a goal or something like that.

How is everyone else doing? Are you guys finding that you're sticking to your baby steps and lifestyle changes?

journeyfit:  The excercise challenge has helped me to increase my exercise from nothing to over 1000 minutes a month. This month I'm working on 1250.

You aren't competeing with the other participants directly but with yourself. Although I find that seeing the numbers of others in the same group and those above tend to spur me on to do more.

i weighed in at 196 this morning!!!! yeah! thats my half pound for last week and this. i do hope it holds, and would actually like to see one more pound go bye bye. I decided to play with my goal a bit, as i tend to lose then maintain, I'm still pointed towards a half pound a week, but am trying to get a little head start going for myself so that a week without loss keeps me in line. . .  we'll see. . .

Hey Bubbles, congratulations!!!! That's fantastic. Isn't it awesome to see the scale moving in the right direction?! =D haha Yeah, I'm in the same frame-of-mind as you. If more comes of, and sometimes it does, it's certainly not a bad thing. Sometimes it's good to get a little momentum going in the beginning if you can, but I have to say, it's not mandatory. Sometimes a little bit at a time is a good way to keep positive.

I hope the numbers keep being good to ya until Saturday =D

I know I am a late joiner- but I have my weight from March 9th? Can I still join in?

Of course =D Welcome aboard!

Good morning, everyone!  I'm leaving on a retreat and will be gone the rest of the weekend.  I had an unintentional, yet, astounding 3 lb. weight loss this week.  I attribute much of it to the fact that the previous week, I was on my period.  Nothing new or different was done and with 1500-1800 calories/day, I wasn't starving myself.  I also had a VERY busy work week and haven't been to the gym since Sunday.  I'm in for 2 days of having no say of what food is served to me and no computer access.  Wish me luck in having healthy weekend.

kthompson92 -- Great work! Losing 3 lbs in a week is fabulous work, so good job! I bet your body recognized that it was getting the nutrients it needed and thus worked hard in return! =D Good luck with your weekend, I hope you have gads of fun and that you stay healthy and strong!!!

Yeah. So now we're way above starting-weight.. I mean, I was feel insanely hungry this week and so I ate wayyyy more than last week. However, that's my pre-TTOM for you, and I can tell you that I didn't eat an extra 8400 calories. I think its water weight from said premenstrual TOM. Some of it, anyway. I didn't weigh all week because I could just tell it was going to be something ridiculous like this. Sigh. I can't wait until I'm premanantly under this 150 barrier that's driving me nuts. Bleh!

Today was a TOUGH week but I did lose my 1/2 a pound!  I'd put a little on after the retreat since every meal was carbs, carbs, carbs but I got back on my game towards the end of the week: ate right, made it to the gym, and it paid off.  I'm thrilled and enjoying watching everyone's else success too.

My other fun weekly news is that I got my sister to join CC.  I'm happy she's here so she can read and comment on my journals and vice versa.  I am confident we can help encourage each other.  (Her name is snjfech so if you see her around the forums, give her some encouragement!)
