*Slow and Steady* Challenge
Well, I am not sure if this group will even appeal to anyone, and I am not looking for too many people who will be up for this. If no one signs up, no biggie -- but I am wondering if there is anyone out there who, like me, is more interested in losing just a little bit each week, but being able to stay on track longer!
My "goal" is to lose 0.5 lbs per week. I could lose more, who knows, but if I lose just 0.5 per week I will be more than happy. This challenge is going to go for eight (8) weeks!

I was afraid my weight yesterday was a fluke. But when I got on the scale this morning it still read 248! Now to get through the weekend without gaining!

Please don't congratulate me on this week's loss. I had an emotionally hell-ish week. Some (manageable) family issues have led to my depression/anxiety increasing slowly the last 2 weeks and spiraling and peaking this week. Keep in mind, I manage my mental health well so a "peak" for me is not I'm suicidal. A peak just means I need to have my meds checked, talk to my counselor or someone, and take better care of myself. I don't want anyone panicking. I'll get over the hump and my husband is loving, understanding, and supportive. I didn't eat much this week or work out at all and most of what I ate was crap. I am taking the week off of work next week since I've been extremely busy there lately. I am seeing my doctor on Monday and my chiropractor Tuesday. I may also call my counselor depending on how I'm feeling after a few days of me time. If I can improve how I've been feeling lately and maintain this weight through the challenge, it will be good. Maybe I'll be lucky and have more loss but I need to concentrate more on my mental health than the scale right now. Anyhow, I reached my goal... just have to stay there for 2 weeks, right? ![]()
Congrats to everyone on their hard work. Keep up the efforts. I am rooting for all of you and remember that whether it's a couple of ounces or a couple of pounds, YOU ARE BETTERING YOUR HEALTH!
Hey you guys are all doing awesome!! Keep up the great work. Sorry for the short response today -- I am in the last week of school (a LOT to do) and plus, my scale ran out of batteries! Which is serendipitous because friday was Easter Dinner and I ate -a lot-. No time to exercise either... LOL But YOU guys are doing good, and that's what counts! =D So stick with it gals.

It actually said lower on the scale a few time even down to 113.4, but I didn't trust it. I took the highest one it gave me and considered it so. I'm still skeptical about it though. There's no way I could have lost 2 (or er...3) pounds this week. Not that I'm not thrilled, but I can't believe it. Why? Because I slacked on exercise this week basically even some days doing lazier things. AND due to my period coming up in about a week or so I've found myself overeating...almost to maintenance. So when I stepped on that scale you can't believe how shocked I was. I was like "wtf?" Lmao. I kind of suspect at least a pound or a pound and a half to come back on me this week due to losing it so fast (which I basically never do.) Heh.
Keep going guys! You are all doing amazing! :)

Yesterday morning I was 192.5!
Then, I went out yesterday afternoon, had two cosmos, which is not my usual, and fish and chips, which I haven't eaten in 7 months since I started my weight loss efforts. Dang fries and tarter! So good. and yet so bad. Did do a 45 minute walk along the waterfront (not a high burn, but good to get the muscles moving, and quite lovely), but those fries, evil fries.
It will disappear again, this one extra pound that I am lamenting about. I dont think Saturday morning is my best day for weigh ins, ;D as I do tend to socialize on fridays, but its ok. I'm still on target. and i'm a little constipated yesterday and this morning (sorry, tmi, but this is how one calculates when watching the scale, no?), so hopefully tomorrow will show me some real numbers. hahahahah. all numbers are real. I just like to pick and chose my version of reality!

First off, I went to the doctor and am doing some things to help myself feel better. with my depression. As for the weight gain, I was 207.5 and 208 every day this week but my period started yesterday and this morning- BAM- 209! I'm not making excuses but I'm also not sweating it since it seems rather coincidental. Hope to be back on track and get that 1 pound gone again for next week's final weigh-in. Either way, I've enjoyed this challenge, meeting new friends, and getting great support. Love and dieting prayers to al!

That makes me feel better, bubbles. I hate people who use things like that as excuses, but I have heard TTOM can influence weight. I'll just keep away from the salt and sweets this week so I can have a good weigh-in on Saturday.

I can't really determine which it is because the scale kept giving me the two different answers. My menstrual is a little late, but due so that could cause some of the weight gain..but I'll just be honest and say I've been eating a lot of sodium a lot of days eating to maintenance and slacking A LOT on my exercise. *Sigh.
We can do this though! I bet you all rocked it this week! If not then we can sulk together. Lmao. :P

this is the last weekend of our challenge! i feel pretty good about it. within a half pound is fine! i've lost 3.5 lbs in 2 months, and that is not too shabby at all! and with the 192.5 thats been coming around lately, its closer to 4.5, so thats great!

you've rocked this challenge, so i have no doubt you'll see it disappear in a few days, or at least as soon as ttom passes.
you've dropped from 121.5 to 114! (--or 114.5, but thats transitory, ;D ).

Woo hoo!! I beat my goal by 1.5 pounds and didn't kill myself doing it, either. The weight gain from last Saturday was totally temporary (be it from my period or not). Within 2 days, I was back down to 207. Hope everone else had success with this challenge and feel healthier and lighter than they did 2 months ago.

I ended up being about 3 lbs down from my starting weight so I'm happy with that especially since I've been sick the past week and unable to do much in the way of exercise.

Down another pound. I was down to 246 on Thursday so I hope that is a sign that I'm finally going to stay below the 250 mark! Yesterday wasn't a good day food wise - eating out and splurging on cheesecake so I'm not surprised that I'm higher than on Thursday but it is sure nice to see that I'm still down for the week even with the splurge.
Raining this morning so it looks like it will be an indoor exercise day plus I need to clean the house.
