Small bust...bigger bottom...what to do?
I'm 5'3", about 120-122 lbs and pear shaped. I am pretty happy with my upper body except for the fact that I have a small bust. I would also like for my thighs to be smaller. I was planning on losing a couple of lbs (5-7 approx.) but I'm no longer sure if I should do this because although I know my thighs will get smaller I think my bust will get smaller too. (I reaalllyyy don't want that happenning...). Will this happen for sure? Am I better off just staying at my current weight and increasing muscle with weight training? Will my legs look leaner if they are more muscular or will they look bulky? Maybe I should just lose those 5 lbs...I don't know... I'm really confused about what to do...
If you're very slim but slightly bottom-heavy, losing weight is no guarantee that this will change. Some of us are simply 'broad in the beam' and will still be that way when the archaeologists dig up our skeletons in a thousand years time and go 'Geez Louise, did this one have a tushie or what!!?'
So I think there comes a time when 'diet and exercise' have reached their limit and 'clever dressing' has to take over instead. Avoid the tragic mistakes of the pear shape such as cropped trousers, skinny jeans or cropped jackets. That kind of thing. I can even recommend a fantastic book... The Body Shape Bible by Trinny Woodhall and Susannah Constantine.
ha ha ha mee too!! can totally relate! i am slim have no boobs but HUGE butts! i just don't understand this...i wear about size 10uk bottom but 6-8 on top! i don't get this at all...just weird...i look weird when i wear fitted shirts....T-T
i had the same problem not too long ago, lucky for me because i carried so much fat on my bottom half the weights coming off there too. weight training and exercise are defenitally helpful- instead of a shot in the dark hoping just eating less will=fat off bottom, if you workout your legs it will start to show.
Heh - the archaeologist image is going to stick with me.
My recommendation is what I did - did not only weight lifting for my lower body (which is just a good idea - large muscles burn more calories, plus, strong legs = good), but also for my upper body - it's helped define my shoulders more so that my shape appears more hourglass than pear.
I still wear shirts several sizes smaller than pants, but the shoulders really help balance. That and an uplift bra.
problem is i don't even have anything to LIFT! I think its just disadvantage of being an asian....no boobs what so ever...
Uplift and padding?
padding is a good stratege....i do that most of the time to balace out my thighs, i swear i look like a walking pyramid...
I barely fit into an A cup anymore since I've lost a few pounds and my stomach sticks out further than by chest which makes me feel like I look heavier than I want to be sometimes.
Then there are days when I look in the mirror and say, "Damn, I'm hot!"
I've lived with a small chest my whole life and am 32 yrs old and just starting to accept it and that I'm beautiful....and always will be.
I hear ya, cheshirekitty77. I'm just about to turn 32, and have been a 'barely-A' all my life. Alas, my bottom half isn't nearly so petite! And my belly sometimes sticks out further than my chest, too. Which is kind of infuriating! I just think that, when you're very small-chested even a tiny amount of extra belly poundage is noticeable.
But, like you, I'm beginning to accept the reality of being small-breasted, and it doesn't really bother me most of the time. In fact, when I'm running, or biking, or doing anything energetic... I'm pretty happy I don't have a giant pair of DD's to contend with ![]()
cheshire and miso...I guess we're all in the same boat! I'm 33 and have been known to occasionally look at the bras in the junior girls section. The only things that stops me from actually getting one is I can't bear the thought of wearing a brazier with Hannah Montana stamped all over it!
Same belly woes too :D
lol @qmwillcand re: Hannah Montana bras!!! I know exactly how you feel! Sometimes, on yet another futile search for a bra that actually, you know, fits... I spy something from a distance that looks about the right size, no underwire, cute color... and... yes. It's in the pre-teen section
!
hehe, I went bra shopping last week and the lady who worked there showed me a super push up bra that was 3/4 filled with padding. I told her that it's a great idea but you can't push what's not there!
^^ I tried it on and even with all the padding it still didn't fit :/
My problem (well, one of them anyways :P) is that I need a 32A size cup on a 34. Not easily found!
I have a similar problem in that if I go with a 34 A, it's slightly too big, but a 34 'nearly A' doesn't alway fit around, so I try the 36 nearly A, but then it's too loose around... I think I basically need a 34 'nearly A' cup on a 35. Or something. Who even knows? Not me, clearly.
You know, I'm just not a fan of padded bras. I mean, presumably they're designed precisely with people like me in mind, but I can't stand that 'padded' look - it's so fake and puffy. Give me a nicely fitted sports bralette any day of the week...
Oh, everyone...i feel like i am not alone in this anymore since all my friends have boobs....the thing is if AA cup T-T which is v small. I though they will grow with time...but i am 20 now...and they are still as small as they have been since i was 14....so i am trying to learn to be contented with them....
do boys mind though?
good to know there are others out there like me! i wear an A cup also, and when I gain it mostly goes to my butt and thighs. But even now when im at a slim weight (108 5'2) i feel like whenever i eat almost anything my stomach sticks out farther than my boobs and i look gross! it makes me feel so bad about myself and not want to wear tight shirts like ever. what to do what to do......
I am more and more concerned that women feel they need big boobs and a small butt to look good. I'm not saying you feel that way - but I think you should re-evaluate what "good looking" is. Personally, I love the look of a little J-Lo down below and a flat chest is more than fine with me. The biggest turn-on for me is the healthy look and athletic look - and seeing a woman in great shape.
WHO CARES if you lose some of your chest while toning up? If you work out and get lean you are going to be one sexy feeling girl - no worries.

You can get a bra extender to give your 32A bra a couple of extra inches.

ROTFLMAO ![]()
Oh hell, I hear all of ya'll. I am 33 and have been in the almost A group all my life. I am a big fan of the padding - my lovers have always laughed when I would get dressed, "I gotta put on my boobs, give me a second." Lol.
And since I have gained weight, that has been the only thing I have enjoyed - having some boobage, something to actually push up :-)
But they are already going away and I am cool with that, as long as the belly goes with them~!
