I am just going to be one of those people who feel like they need to rant and get something off their chest.

When i eat out for lunch or something similar, i try go for healthy options with a salad base and a diet soft drink. Anyway, i go to the counter and ask for my sprite zero or coke zero and the looks i get are like "why is she drinking diet drinks..she is not fat, is she becoming anorexic?" and i just feel like yelling "the reason i am drinking/eating the way i do is because i lost weight and if i do eat unhealthy all the time then i am going to get fat again". I would rather drink my diet soft drink and save all that sugar from a regular soft drink for some chocolate.

I hate how after losing weight people presume you can just eat anything because your thinner now. If that was the case then i wouldn't need to lose weight in the first place.

Losing weight and becoming healthy is a lifestyle change. It's not just a temporary phase where you lose the weight, yep your skinny now, you can eat what ever you like.

You have to keep the habits and skills you have developed and learnt whilst losing weight and when you are ready to maintain, you apply the same principles, just more food. Now that is a lifestyle change Wink

Yeah, I kinda agree. If someone sees a skinny person ordering a diet beverage, the first thing on their mind is, "OMG she's starving herself". lol But let 'em think what they want, as long as they keep it to themselves.

With that being said, I have a phobia that if I get a diet drink at a a restaurant, I'm PARANOID they will purposely give me regular. Yes, I lack that much faith in people. lol

It's better when you go somewhere like Wendy's and order a diet coke, they just give you the cup and you fill it yourself so you know what you're getting. Wait.. now that I think about it, I hope they don't fill the diet fountain with regular if they're out! Here comes that paranoia again! LOL

AHHHH water is just always your safest bet, and it's free. But for some reason a soda compliments things like burgers much better. lol

Lol, that made me laugh so much..just what i needed.

I know what you mean about buying the "cup drinks" though. I always make sure they put it under the diet coke nozzle, thankfully they always do. Diet coke is the only cup drink you can get in Australia and luckily i can taste the different between regular and diet so if they did stuff it up then i can be like "well this is not diet" and if they make any funny remarks i will be like I USE TO BE FAT OK!! I am sure that will shut them up lol.

Ezzied: I am so excited you think this too!!! I told my mom and my boyfriend once at lunch that sometimes I wonder if waitresses/bartenders ever try to sabotage other girls by serving them regular pop instead of diet. They both rolled their eyes and said I'm crazy. But think about... girls do crazier things!!

I'm the other way. I hate the taste of diet soda.  I am limiting myself to one real soda a week.  Normally I just drink water, with the occasional crystal light, maybe every other day.

But when I do have my soda, I want a normal, sugar filled soda.  It's my treat.  I HATE it when I go through a drive through, get a soda, and get home to discover they gave me a diet soda.  Sometimes it happens at restaurants.  I just say, I think this is diet, I wanted regular.

But it really annoys me.  Are they trying to tell me that I'm fat and need to lose weight?  I already KNOW this.  Then I have to remind myself, so many people here always order diet.  It might be more of a habit for them to go to the diet.  Ordering regular just might be making me outside of the normal.

I understand you completely. One time, I ordered a non-fat latte at a cafe, and the barista gave me a DEATH stare! Granted, I was actually anorexic at the time, but still Embarassed

I wouldn't doubt an occasional diet/regular soda mix-up. Pretty much all of my friends who have worked at Starbucks or another coffee shop say that when they're really busy, they'll use full-fat milk or whatever they have on hand, even if the customer asks for skim! Yikes! Yet another reason why I order soy milk...

I so understand what you mean! If it's in a cup I don't drink it period, even if it's from the Diet Coke nozzle - who knows what the person who filled the tank put in it? I don't know the taste of regular Coke because I have never had it in my life, and no way would I risk drinking a cup of Coke. And speaking of Starbucks, once I ordered one of their low-fat caramel frappucino things and even though it had no whip the girl behind the counter had put like, a half cup extra of caramel sauce in it. Jeez, thanks.
