small weight loss group wanted (closed)

Quote  |  Reply

just read a topic on a weight loss group that sounds like an awesome idea. However i think they had gone over their limit so thought i would try and start my own group.

Previously I have lost 13 kilos (about 30) pounds through a personal trainer. It worked really well for me as someone was pushing and motivating me. Unfortunately I had to stop as I could no longer afford it, however still have food plan, food diaries and gym workout which I am happy to share. (no charge)

I started a 12 body challenge at work with my staff  (with the info from my trainer) and had 1 guy loose 23 kilos /50 pounds. He was very overweight tho and it came off very quickly the ladies averaged about 9 kilos. We did a weekly weigh in and I motivated them throghout. The unfortunate part about all this is that I had no one to motivate me as I was motivating them.

Due to being unmotivated I have gained another 6 kilos :-(

Not sure how to start a online group as I have only signed up today but would love to hear from any1 else wanting to join. :-)

My ultimate goals is loose 13 kilos 28.7 pounds, pls help !!!!

Does anybody know a way to tag this thread or if there's a way to keep it somewhere so I don't have to go through all the posts to find it each time I want to look at it???  I'm new to CC and I haven't quite figured all this out yet...

There should be a link above the starting post that says "Tag It!" (It'll be under the Motivation header and next to the "Library" link.) Just click that link and follow the prompts. Once you tag it all you'll have to do is go to "Tagged Items" from your account page and look under Forums.

Hope that helped :)

kaleighlynn - i am also a college student and keeping the weight off is tough!!!

Does anyone here work full time & go to school at night as a full time student (12hrs+)?

Holy cow! I missed a lot of stuff and I wasn't gone that long I don't think anyways! So far today I have managed to stick to my "diet", I even had someone give me a homemade dessert and told them I was going to take it home and eat it tonight LOL! I will just give it to my mom and tell them it was really good tomorrow and thank you so much. Then today at lunch we got an 14 minutes on our break so me and some friends woofed down our food and then went for a mile walk. Smile It feels good to start to get back into it all again. OH!!! And the highlight of my day thus far, my friend that I think is really skinny went through her closet last night and gave me a bunch of her clothes she didn't want and guess what! Most of them fit besides 2 shirt and 1 pair of pants! So apparently I went down another pant size and didn't really realize it. Hahaha! I have no idea how that happened but I am so happy!

Congrats lillysmominpa!

lillysmominpa - yay! and good job resisting that dessert :]

Thanks ladies that dessert was hard to resist, homemade gobs are the best! My mom said it was really good hahaha. Oh! I forgot to say as for cleaning mushrooms all I do is wash them off under cold water and make sure I get all the dirt off then slice them and throw them on the grill. I use a George Foremen grill if you were to use an outside grill I would spray some aluminum foil with Pam and then grill them in that or they would probably fall through the grates. Remember they shrink when you cook them, so I always make more thinking they will shrink more than they do. So if you end up making too many (like I often do) they are really great in omelets or if you like brown rice you can throw them in that too as a side for dinner, both are very yummy and a good way to use them as a filler in meals.

Thanks!  I now have this thread tagged and posted!  That's a huge time saver :)

Lillysmomiinpa - Congrats on sticking to your diet!  Last night my friend and I went downtown and I caved in and ate some AMAZING frozen yogurt, only to regret it five minutes later... I've decided it's really not worth it!

whatever07 - between work and classes and any tad bit of a social life we're able to keep, it's so hard to stick to a balanced diet!  Keep up the good work!  We can do this!

Congratulations lillysmominpa!!! It hard to say NO but after it's been said you feel glad you did. Otherwise, you would have beat yourself during your walk. I didn't exercise today. I just didn't feel like it. I have been doing that boring treadmill for 5 days straight and in with the heat at 92 deg. it's was just unbearable in my garage. Guess what? I don't feel guilty, I stuck to cc and consumed 1210 calories of good foods. I also stepped on the scale and to my surprise it read 131.5. So I did drop 2 lbs. my first 8 days. Just have keep on going but I sense trouble. I'm feel craving for chocolate coming on and according to my calendar, it's that time on the month!!! I hope I can resist a bag of M&M at the check out line in my locate grocer.

Sweet dreams to you all Smile

Hi Phat83,

Instead of the table can you type in in a column format? (The tab key works.)

Maybe we could do that and also have the great table you made sent to us. My address is ckuhfahl@loudoun.gov.

Thanks!Tongue out

Hey girls!  So I feel so sick right now!  My roommate had a spa/margarita night at our house tonight... Yeah, I think you know where this is heading Yell  I gave in!  It didn't really affect my calorie count because I had been so busy all day that all I ate was coffee and grapes up til tonight, but I feel so sick to my stomach!  She had chocolate chip cookies (I ate two), Triscuits and dip (I probably ate one serving of triscuits without the dip) and lots of other stuff, but those were my two biggest weaknesses.  At least until the margarita's... I managed to get mine virgin, but still!  All that sugar in a drink?!?!?!  100 calories and 32g of sugar in 4 oz!!!!  32 grams!  Urg!  Damn my lack of self control!  Anyway, I am sitting in my room sipping green tea and hoping this won't cause me to give up for a few days (as is my tendency).  It's especially hard since I found out today that I've lost 1 pound since last Friday...  I was so excited and now I'm really regretting those choices Cry

Tracy,

Regarding the chocolate, here's something that has worked for me in the past. Buy some really good quality chocolate, individually wrapped. Make sure the chocolate is at least 70% chocolate. Put them in a special place and allow yourself one piece in the evening after all your eating is done, IF you've stayed within your calorie range and/or met your other goals for the day.  This helped me so much because I knew I was allowed a piece almost daily and it kept me from having a binge. There were many times where I "earned" it but didn't even eat it! It's amazing how the mind works. Let me know if you give it a try and how it goes.

Caroline

Good morning,

I can try it if you want to send me the info. My email address is caroline.kuhfahl@loudoun.k12.va.us.

Have a great day!

Caroline

hey phat --  I am glad it is not just me.  When I use the tab key to make columns, like for measurement, it ends up looking terrible.   WHo knows...?  maybe the diff between classic and cc+?

first off, kaleighlynn --   congrats on losing a pound.   second, we all have obstacles just like this one.....    next time, budget for the party time if you really want it.   I do it all the time.....  Like tonight.  We have dinner with my bf's parents every Tuesday, and I eat LIGHT all day to try my best for their choices not to ruin my efforts.  (we go out a lot --BOO-- and OMGm when mom cooks, it is actually worse I think for all the butter etc)  --   maybe someone else could help with this part --  I am not a huge rita fan, but surely there is a lower sugar version of a margarita that would still taste good and be fun without all the bad stuff?   (  :    And I think YOU said it best, DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF.  Just because you had one naughty night does not give you permission to mess around the rest of the week, right???  Be strong, sister.  You can do it!!!!

How is everyone else?

I am having some issues, but trying to power through...  My 4 year anniversary was pretty disappointing.  I think I have twisted/torn/hurt my ACL, knee, shin splints, something so running/biking are harder, and TTOM is ripping me hard this month.  HOWEVER.  I still got up, walked my dog for 30 minutes, rode the bike for 30 minutes/10 miles, and did arms on the Bowflex.   I am having coffee now, thinking oatmeal in a minute.

Hope all of you are well and happy!     ( :

EDIT because i wanted to tell tracy ---  my chocolate secret weapons?????   OH YEAH -- ARE YOU READY?   sugar free, 60 cals jello pudding cups are so good --- lots of flavors from mint choc, mocha-coffee, banana fudge, you name it.  awesome.   Also I love Blue Bunny fudgesicles for 35 cals.   totally love 'em!!!!!

Caroline, smart thinking!! I will try it and since I eat within my 1200 to 1300 calories daily, I can fit in a small piece of chocolate. I don't think I will work out to day. Last night I was feeling so sick to my stomach that I spent most of the night in the bathroom. Nobody else was sick. Imagine getting sick from your own cooking!!! Never happened before. I have been dragging myself all day and I haven't even consumed 500 calories yet. I'll drink green tea and have some boil veggies.

Hope that everyone is doing well and staying strong. Cool

Tracy

So my boyfriend came home a few minutes ago and invited me to go out to eat with his friends and him and I said NO! I'm proud of myself so I had to tell someone. Instead of indulging in some fatty, salty mexican food I'm baking a piece of fish and steaming some broccoli for dinner.

I'm feeling really sluggish this afternoon. I done some yoga this morning and I'll do about 20 min. of ball exercises after dinner but no hard workout today.  I'm so sore from yesterday it's ridiculous.

I just wanted to vent a bit.

Awww! Don't beat yourself up, everyone has moments of weakness. Today at work I went to lunch with co-workers and completely forgot myself and got fried things to eat. When I mean I forgot, I honestly did. I ordered and didn't think anything of it til someone said "Wow, I'm surprised you're going to eat that isn't that going to make you sick since you never eat things like that?" By then it was too late, the waitress left and put the order in and I had to eat some thing and they were right. This evening my stomach is so upset. I took a nap and only had a bowl of cereal for dinner because I feel like total poo. I did go for a quick 20 minute walk on one of my breaks but it can't make up for the fried food and I don't feel well enough to workout anymore. I've definitely learned a valueble lesson thats for sure! But remember once in a while its alright to cheat.

Bluemisscutie- Good job turning down going out to eat! Thats always a tough one especially when its some place that you like. I think your boyfriend was just trying to be nice, thats how my Joe is. But they have to realize that one little mistake could make you feel like total crap if you give in and go out and blow your day and all that hard work you did. Plus, when you're not use to eating "junky foods" anymore you do get really sick. I never really knew that would happen til I had a piece of birthday cake with my mom after about 3 months of solid dieting. I got the worst sugar rush of my life! Seriously, I ended up throwing up and having the worst headache ever.

Lillysmominpa - It happens... obviously!  It really is amazing how crappy you feel when you eat stuff like that! All day I've felt so sluggish and gross after last night (and this just coming off of feeling really good about doing so well over the weekend...)!  I'm going on a hike tonight with some girlfriends of mine, so hopefully that will be enough to get me back on track.  It's a good hike that takes about 2 hours to finish so I should be able to burn the calories I ate last night.

Bluemisscutie - CONGRATS on your self-control!  It's so easy to give into peer pressure.  Keep it up!

Tracy - HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!!!
