Smoothie recipes?

Quote  |  Reply
I am looking for lower calorie smoothie recipes that are around 100 calories. The only problem is yogurt and milk upset my stomach. I plan on using soymilk, but I was just wondering if there was any recipes that didn't call for things like frozen yogurt, yogurt and ice cream? I was also wondering how would it taste if I made one using jello powder, milk and ice? I am pretty inventive but I am a college student and I don't have a lot of money to waste on food.

All the smoothies I make are more than 100 calories, but you could limit the portions.

Try a fruit and juice smoothie like orange juice and banana.  If you want protein, whiz up a little soft, silken tofu with it. I add a tablespoon of flaxseed meal to my smoothies for fiber and Omega 3.  Any combination of juice and fruit is nice.

I find the nicest smoothies are the pure fruit ones - 120ish calories per glass. Nothing to upset you in those! You could also use soya yoghurt and ice cream in place of dairy (though they're likely to be more expensive).
A small amount of tofu will thicken up a smoothie, but too much and the whole thing tastes like a block of bland tofu.

Hi There

What I usually do to supplement the taste fo Soy milk is to use Honey and peanut butter along with a banana.  Let me know how you like it

sometimes if you just use fruit and ice, maybe a bit of vanilla or cacao powder its good....

When I found out about this I flipped my lid.  It's the ultimate best smothie idea.

You can have a huge smoothie for around 100 calories.

Use unsweetened vanilla almond breeze (20 calories a cup, I heard)

stevia as desired (0 calories)

1 scoop of banana flavored spirutein protein powder (around 100 cal, I think)

Here's the earthshattering breakthrough: 1 TBSP of GUAR GUM!!!!

Thickens it!

Use guar gum in your blender with any liquid you like - Diet Arizona Iced Tea with Ginseng - and it turns it into goo.

I LOVE GOO!

This will be a little more than 100 calories. But I love blending together some chocolate soy milk, a small chopped banana and some slice strawberries. Mmmm...
