Anyone have creative smoothie ideas?
Reason: Moved to Recipe Forum
I don't know how creative it is, but my favorite is a peanut butter cup smoothie.
8 oz. of water
Handfull of ice cubes
2 Servings of EAS Premium Protein - Chocolate (4 scoops)
TBS Natural Peanut Butter
Blend all together and YUM!

When hubby and I get back from the gym I whip up this:
1 cup non-fat milk, 1 cup non-fat plain yogurt, 1/2 cup OJ, 2 scoops whey protein powder-vanilla, and either one banana, or some frozen fruit of choice. Blend until smooth. If making for one person, half the recipe. It's delicious.

This link takes you to a specific smoothie, but they have many to choose from.
No, nothing creative, but I do treat myself about 4 times a week with one. Any fruit I can think of, ice, water, splash of protein and tadaaaaaaaaaa. They are sooooo good. I feel like it is my surprise at the end of the day for doing so good.
im not a fan of adding protein or banana to things. one of the nicest smoothies i make is 10 respberries, a cup of orange juice and a cup of plain low or no-fat yogurt plus a spoon full of honey if you want some added sweetness!
either that or kiwi, grape, apple juice and yogurt (its opaque green but lovely!)
blueberries, milk, yougurt, cherries is really nice - add oatmeal for a filling bfast, or anyother 'forest/summer' fruit
to count the calories, just add together the individual ingredients et voila, healthy, nutritious and tasty!
i just have a general question- if you're making a smoothie with milk (so you want a more milkshake like taste), would it be strange to use ice in it? or would that just mess with the taste/consistency? i know ice cream is another option, but i'd rather not spend the calories on it (even though you only have to use a small amount)
its ok until the ice starts to melt - then you get watery milk! until then however, its ok! tastes no different to me!
So many smoothies, so little time! I used the Forum Search feature to get you this list of past threads on the subject.
That should keep us all busy for a while. I got a new Cuisinart blender for Christmas!
