What is a snack that is 100-200 cals but keeps you really full?
It is my friends birthday and we are going to olive garden. I have already planned out eating one breadstick and my meal which will keep me under...but the only way I will only eat one breadstick will be if I eat a 100-200 calorie snack before I go.
This will fit into my daily intake, so I'm not worried about it, but I want a snack that is filling so I won't be starving at the table while everyone scarfs down endless breadsticks! Thanks!

A protein bar? An apple with a tbsp of peanut butter?
Eggs....cottage cheese? Yogurt.
Oatmeal.
A big glass of milk?
Something high fibre or high protein.
Or a healthy fat.
Those things keep me fullest longest.
i reccommend a bowl of porridge/oatmeal. very filling but usually between 100-200 cals.
or you could have a huge plate full of any vegetable, such as brocolli..! or quite a big serving of soup, or if you made a vegetable broth you could eat a lot for 100-200 calories. also if you make up a big plate of salad and fill your plate with leaves and greens, drizzle on some balsamic vinegar.. add some ham or crab or something.. you could fit quite a lot on there for 100-200 cals.
or a 200g jacket potato with some salad leaves... i think the oatmeals the best idea though :) and you could drink lots of fizzy water to keep you satisfied while everyones muching at the breadsticks, or something:) have fun! x
Yep 100 calorie popcorn is my favorite.
That or a bowl of oatmeal.
Oh soup! Soup works too.
well, i am going to get off my ass typing in a bit and work out and I just add a samll snack that consisted of no more than 100 calories. I pieces of Frigo Light String cheese (50 calories), and 3 slices of cracked pepper turkey breast, by Boars Head (yum! 50 calories). IT's nothing but protein and low in fat, but you aren't stuffed like a high fiber would get you, and you can spare the carbs for your trip to olive garden.
Thank you all for all of the ideas! They all seem amazing, but I think I am gonna go with mv3's suggestion because like my whole meal tonight will be carbs! And my lunch was high carb, so I think I'll have a little lettuce with some string cheese and turkey on it.
yeah all that talk about the pasta made me want some so i made me and my family some turkey italiane sausage with tomatoes and onions, and added a little cheese to it, and instead of the bow tie pasta like the boys had, I had mine with a slice of Nature's Own double fiber wheat bread (50cals). So it was very filling with the rest of my meal. hope you enjoyed your meal tonight!
just in case you're still interested. I keep a stash of unsalted pistachio meats. A 1/4 cup is 178 calories, which is very filling. They taste creamy.
I did it was sooo yummy! I had the linguine alla marinara and one breadstick. So worth the calories! But then I cheated (ughhhhhh) and had a frappichino later, which put me 100 over what I had planned for the day. Oh well, ya win some ya lose some!
Oatmeal is a good bet. The 100 calorie packs of cookies and stuff aren't filling, but they're good if you're craving something sweet.
1/2 c low fat cottage cheese with some fresh fruit always works for me and is right around 100 cals. Good luck and enjoy that breadstick!

have an orange (180 gr) with nonfat plain yogurt (170 gr) which will be around 200 cals total.
My fav: 140-ish calorie fiber bar from Fiber One (or better yet, it's Target generic equivalent). Very tasty, not too sweet, and I find it very filling.
1/4 cup of raw walnuts can hold me for almost 2 hours. Its as filling as a detour bar with less sodium. Since my heart attack I'm watching fat, calories, sugars, and sodium! Never realized how much salt was in the "healthy" food I had been eating until I had to limit it. Besides being filling, a serving of walnuts are also high in omega 3 fats.
The snack that seems to kill even my biggest hunger cravings is a 100 calorie bag of popcorn and a Coke Zero. It covers my salty and sweet cravings and is super filling. I make that my late afternoon snack at work when I don't think I can hold out until dinner.
raw nuts - i like pistacchios myself
huge cup of tea with dried fruit
peanut butter (teaspoonful) with jam on 2 melba toast slices
the 100 calorie popcorn is AMAZING for curbing hunger too
Popcorn is my snack of choice. 3 cups of some store bought popcorn is only 140 cals, and 3 cups is A LOT, so it's definitely filling. Pretzels are also good since they are low cal as well.
