Snack foods your diet couldn't live without?

Quote  |  Reply

As we all know, snacks are an important part of any healthy diet. So, what are your favorite diet-friendly snack foods?

Mine are pickles. Especially Van Holten's Zesty Garlic pickles. Cucumbers are naturally low in calories, so that 5oz pickle is filling, delicious, and takes forever to eat! Just make sure to balance the sodium content of the pickle with extra water.

PB crackers (try to limit though)

whole grain tortilla chips and salsa. hands down.

Ooh, this is an interesting one...

Hummus, definitely - lowest fat and as garlicked I can find, and I sometimes have it on a small slice of bread, or with carrots :3

100 Cal, no fat pots of yoghurt. I try to aim to have my fat intake half my protein intake, and these help with that!

Brown rice - a tiny bit with some soy sauce and I eat it with chopsticks so it lasts ages! I find eating something over a long time gives a similar feeling of satisfaction to eating loads.

Pepsi Max with masses of ice. It's not a snack, I suppose, but crunching the ice helps :3

my diet-friendly snack foods are 100-calorie popcorn, light hot chocolate, and diet soda.

I absolutely adore fruits. I couldn't live without them, which is bad for me considering that that a LOT of sugar!

yogurt

olives

reduced-fat string cheese

cherry tomatoe

fruit w/ cottage cheese. YUM!!! I blame my dad for getting me addicting to that one. lol

Canned pumpkin w/ ricotta and a tbsp. of honey and/or peanut butter (omg to dieee for, sometimes I add marshmallows and dip low fat honey graham crackers in it)

Yogurt. I will never again eat yogurt pudding (aka Dannon, Yoplait, etc..) Greek all the way!

Hummus - a recent addiction. I've been using it to replace my fat free miracle whip in sandwiches. No HFCS and all natural!

FRUIT!!!! any and all kinds.

skinny caramel latte from starbucks

dry cereal, sometimes atop yogurt

hummus with pretzels or cold crisp veggies or mini whole wheat pitas

sf jello pudding and jello

...oh and I drink lots of tea. I try not to snack though because I like eating alot of variety at my meals. And I usually have 4-5 "meals" a day.

I love raw vegitables

Radishes, carrots, bell peppers and pickles. Those all keep my appetite at bay before the next meal.

oh, and lemons. :D

Cherry Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Cabbage, Nori, Kelp Noodles, Green Beans, Tomato Paste & Coffee!

Edamame - replaces my peanut craving

Sugar free applesauce

Tangerines

Quaker weight control oatmeal
