I was wondering if anyone could give me some new snack ideas that are healthy. preferably something quick and easy as i work in an office and don't have much time and don't really want to sit at my desk dipping carrot lol. I usually snack on pretzles and granola bites but they're getting a little old. also, this isn't totally relative to the snack thing but what's the low down on sodium I've noticed that I seem to be getting alot of it..how much is too much when it comes to losing the weight?
I work in an office and I know what you mean that the granola things get old. I am trying to bring a banana or an apple or those fruit cups. I know they've all got sugar but it's better than cookies! :) Also, I bought those 100 calorie packs and Special K bars. The chocolate/peanut butter ones are really good and only have 90-110 calories, depending on flavor.
Hope that helps!
Get a little insulated "lunch box / bag" THen your options are much larger. Blueberries, fruit, yogurt, blah blah blah. Berries of any kind are great - fruits are great . . . getting your carbs from fruits / veggies as opposed to starches is preferable in many cases anyway . . . plus you'll be getting some good fibre.

I like to combine those three suggestions to make one of my favorite snacks ...
1/2 cup fat-free vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup blueberries
1/4 cup fiber one cereal
It doesn't look like much but it's tasty, healthy, fills me up and sticks with me for a couple of hours.
Or I do an ounce (24) of almonds for 164 calories. If I eat them one at a time they take a while to eat.
My afternoon snack (just finsihed eating it) !
9 baby carrots 30 calories 0 fat
light mozz. cheese stick 50 calories 2.5 fat
Makes me feel full and satisfied.
Apple with a little PB mixed with sugar free maple syrup to make a delicious dip
Small serving of trail mix (doesn't take much to tide you over because of the healthy fat)
Nature Valley Granola bar
Luna bar
These are some snack staples for me.
Some of my favorite snacks:
apple
Dannon Light-n-Fit yogurt: 60 cals
1 oz. almonds: 160 cals
1 cup nonfat cottage cheese: 123 cals
tangerines
carrot sticks
Slices of bananas sandwiched in between Oreo thins (from a 100 calorie pack).
I also like any kind of nonfat yogurt with a handful of grapenuts or granola or caramel rice cakes.
I eat:
yoplait fat-free yogurt
laughing cow cheese and multigrain crackers (you have to be really particular about the crackers when you select them - read the label)
if I want something sweet-
2 sugar-free oreos (yes they make them!) 100 calories.
Odwalla bar - MMMMMMMMM soooo good (220 calories or so)
south beach bars - (if I need to eat less calories then an odwalla bar like if I'm planning a bigger dinner) - 140 calories
EAS protein shake mixed with 12 oz nonfat milk - 240 calories (Would be less if you went with the recommended 8 oz's, but 8 oz's doesn't fill me up and then I want to snack again and then what's the purpose? So I do 12)
fruit but you already do that.
quaker cake things
My new favorite snack is fat free vanilla yoghurt with cereal.
I don´t know why but even a little bowl of it really keeps me full. But I think
it not suitable for breakfast ...
There are tons of great snacks. There is fage yogurt, string cheese, dried fruits, nuts, trail mix, frozen berries, and whole grain bars. This is my favorite list of low calorie snack ideas. I think my favorite snack is clif z bars, froezn blueberries with fage yogurt, or luna tea cakes.
Sometimes it's OK totext in a restaurant.
