School is almost back in session and I have a huge gap between lunch and field hockey practice. I was wondering if anyone knows a healthy snack that I could just throw in my bag.

A jar of peanut butter, a knife, and a banana. Spread just a little pb on the banana and you have a great combination of fiber, protein, and healthy fat. If you want it to feel more like a meal, slice the banana, add a little more pb, and put it between two slices of whole wheat bread. Instant energy.
Baby Carrots. Always a good option.
Trail mix with lots of healthy nuts and/or berries.
Fruit: apples, grapes, pears, bananas. Stuff that's easy to eat when no utensils are available.
Protein bars or shakes are good alternatives if you want something really simple. I like the Slimfast Optima shakes & Luna bars.
