Snack suggestions...

Quote  |  Reply

I'm a college student and was hoping you all would have great suggestions for good, filling snacks. I have a fast metabolism, so I eat small meals and lots of snacks... I usually just snack on either Kashi cereals or granola bars, but I'm finding that these don't really fill me up... any suggestions?

Popcorn!  You can eat it slowly, have lots of it, and it keeps you full forever.

Another:  Turkey breast lunchmeat with fat-free flavored cream cheese and 1/2 a banana.  The fiber fills you up, the protein make it digest slowly.  :)

Whenever im hungry but don't want to destroy my calorie count for the day I usually go for popcorn (low-calorie or air popped) or a small bowl of baby carrots. The baby carrots are amazing, they always fill me up.

Any type of fruit is always good. I make a lot of fruit mixes, this includes any combination of apple, banana, peach, plum, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cherries, or anything else you can think of. I cut them up into small bit size pieces, mix them in a bowl, and add some low calorie yogurt (my fave is shillouette cherry). Its very very good!!!

I too am a college student and have successfully lost my goal of 13 pounds in a mere 26 days.  My snacks include:

Tuna, protein shakes, 100 calorie pack popcorn, Healthy Choice's Honey Roasted and Smoked Turkey (deli meat), Boar's Head Tavern Ham (deli meat), and skim milk (very filling).

I don't believe in having fruits, vegetables, or anything with high carbs for snacks since it throws off my 25% fat, 40% protein, and 35% carbs calorie distribution; I think this idea was an integral part of my quick weight loss.

there are single serve PB packets in some stores, and i love to take them with me with like a banana, or an apple.

also, nature valley crunchy granola bars (packs of two) are really good for only 180 cals.
