Snacking while cooking?
You know how you start cooking... and you're REALLY STARVING... and by the time everything is cooked you're like "hmmm not starving any more... don't really know why."
...Probably because you snacked so much and you have NO IDEA how or why?
How can you stop yourself from snacking while cooking?

I was going to recommend the gum thing. Or...keep a big glass of water next to you. Everytime you're going to lick a spoon or taste something, take a big sip of water.
I usually have my boyfriend taste what I've made so I don't eat anything that I don't log.
;)
I'm terrible for that. Mostly I find it's boredom. I nibble on something I chopped 2 minutes ago while I'm waiting for something else to start boiling or be ready to be turned or have the heat turned down or turn a different colour. The glass of water (or, ahem, wine) to hand helps. Also, eating only the low cal stuff. I tend to reach for the raw mushroom or carrot, which is a lot less damage.
these days I'm just strict with myself. No eating of the ingredients and I can taste only shortly before serving to assess the seasoning situation.
Sometimes it's OK totext in a restaurant.
