i know for a fact that i snack too much, the minute i get home from school i open the cupboard and eat nearly everything! it is a very unhealthy lifestyle, but sometimes its addicting, right? its all about self control.![]()
if you are a snacker too, dont u want to stop? so lets try and motivate eachother!
lets hear some ideas about weaning off these bad habits!
Ugh, i know how that is.
what i do is every time i feel like i want to snack on something and and find myself in the kitchen...i just grab a glass of water and gulp it down...makes me feel a bit better like something filled me a bit...the more i feel like eating..the more water i drink! but ofcourse you have to eat healthy stuff when you can...but if i want junk.....water is the answer for me!
donchya just love that 0 calorie water?
try it!
and good luck! =D
I do the same thing !
Drinking water helps , it'll make it seem like your full . Also if you absolutly have to snack on something eat blueberries , they have virtually no calories and are super healthy for you . After school when i want to snack i'll either chew some gum (minty stuff makes me less hungry) or take my dog for a walk . I hope this helps ! ![]()
I know exactly what you mean! What I try and do is tell myself mentally not to over-eat on food. Just be patient and choose foods carefully like fruit that will make you full faster, so then you can slowly choose foods more wisely and not over-eat on snacks. Also take snacks to school, so when you come home you aren't starving.
I drink tea. It's like a meal replacement practically. Fills you right up. Of course there's the calories from the sugar and milk, but if you want 0-calorieness, go for green tea or black tea (yuck haha)
I have issues with snacking as well. Basically what I've done, because my parents are on a diet too, is remove all junk from the cupboard/fridge. It means there is actually nothing to snack on.
Also, having earlier meals helps. Not extreme, but we used to have dinner at about 7:30-8:00, now we have it at 6:00-7:00.
Crunchy foods help to curb my appetite so I go for carrot sticks or an apple if there available to me and unsweetened iced tea is my favorite! ![]()
I'm also like this, but I've really toned it down recently.
I still snack frequently, but instead of eating chips, I'd eat an apple or some yogurt.
Its a very hard habit to break out of, trust me (I'm not even completely over it yet), but don't give up!
I agree with lots of the people here... If you really want a snack don't force yourself to have nothing (coz that'll be more likely to lead to binges later), but have something small and healthy. Then (this is what i do, anyways) go online and go to your favourite stores online and remind yourself of all the cute clothes you're gonna get once you reach your goal! Or take a nice bubble bath. : )
omg. lowfat hot chocolate. totally helps. make sure u make it with h2o, only about 8oz or it tastes watered down and gross. its indulging and nice especially in cold weather.
p.s. drinking alot of liquids (like water, milk, etc. not pepsi) helps your skin and your tummy:) xoxo
i just found out about this thing called Full Bars! theyre like protein bars but they fill up ur stomach and make u feel full so u dont eat too much. they also come in lots of flavors. u can get them at costco
i saw a commecial about that! it really intrigued me i think im gonna get a weeks worth or so and run a test lol. thats basically my problem is not being full enough.....
