I need to lower and watch my sodium. I seem to be eating a lot of packaged foods (soy chips, crackers etc....). I guess this is where a lot of my sodium is coming in.
I also need to up my protein and fats. I want snacks NOT high in fat. I think my carbs will lower once I cut the processed foods.
Just need ideas.....gonna make a grocery list!

Begin adding vegetables to your existing meals, or having some veggies along with a clean protein source for snacks. Veggies will keep you feeling full, give you fiber, and aid in fat loss while giving your body plenty of vitamins and minerals.

what about, cream cheese, nuts, fruit. Lean meats, eggs, yoghurt.
All good for you, plus some dark chocolate - in moderation, it's a great snack

All I can say is plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. It's getting to be the end of the summer fruit season, so for me - I have an orange with breakfast (instead of orange juice), and an apple for the first snack of the day. I try to do that "5 fruits/veggies a day" that the FDA recommends. I also have a banana mixed in for breakfast so that's 3 of the 5 items that I am aiming for.
In the evening - say if I get hungry before bedtime, I keep a baggie of baby carrots to munch on, with a 8 ounce glass of fat free milk.
Good for you fo trying to reduce the salt from your diet. Here is some interesting reading - it's called the DASH diet:

I try to do this diet twice a week for me and my 85 yr old dad. I hate cooking and the only way for me to accomplish the DASH diet is with home cooking.

Cottage cheese is a great snack that will up your protein!
I love cottage cheese - here's a snack I look forward to:
wasa crisp n' light crackers (3 - they're the long ones), with sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese and pepper.

I eat apples, carrots and yogurt primarily for snacks. My diet is
fairly low carb due to health issues where low carb is prescribed
(PCOS). So those snack cracker packs are more of a treat for me
than a snack. I'm also hypoglycemic, so carbs just kind of go
right through my system leaving me hungry.
