If you have a cooler available, bring some light string cheese (I prefer Sargento). Other possibilities are fruits, cut up if necessary - apples are good here, as are strawberries with the tops off and any other finger-food types of fruit that you like. The Kashi TLC crackers and bars are very tasty, and you can package up the crackers in baggies so you don't accidentally eat the whole box at once. And of course, bottled water and fruit juices are a big help (though they do make you need to stop somewhere more frequently...not a bad thing, as you can stretch your legs too).
pygirl...try almonds too...an ounce has lots of good for you fats and protein...that's about 24 almonds...I always carry some in my purse especially when I'm shopping...Hey I live in NC, where ya gonna be?
