I know... I should probably stop the evening snacking after 8 pm, but I work late, and a lot of times I just get too hungry to resist the urge to grab something.
I used to keep a pile of snacks on top of by cabinet, now I've moved all food out of my room. I've mostly been snacking on small fruits, or baby carrots, or just a cup of hot tea... and I got sugar-free jello sometimes.
Are there any other low calorie snacks? Besides fruits/veggies/sugar-free jello?
(maybe just anything besides apples, kiwis, grapes, oranges, celery sticks, peppers, and sugar-free jello....)
Please advise, and thanks!
Rice cakes - vary from 45-60 calories a piece
Babybel cheese wedge - 50 calories (I pair this with half a matzo [another 50 calories] for a total 100 calorie snack)
Sugar Free/Fat Free pudding made with Almond Breeze - counts either 60 or 80 calories per serving (1/4 box).
Vitamuffins - I make one batch every two weeks, 100 calories for a muffin
One Turkey Meatball (Trader Joe's) with a 35 calorie per slice piece of bread for a 90 calorie snack. Add in 1/8 cup of Trader Joe's Rustico sauce for only an additional 1.5 calories.
Cliff Z-Bar - for kids but oh so good for 120 (maybe 110) calories
One fun sized hershey bar - 60 calories
Special K Bites - 90 calories per pouch
No pudge brownies - 110 calories per piece (if made with non-fat yogurt)
Bananas - 1/2 a banana usually does it for me...50 calories. Pair this with the yogurt and you have a good and oh so delicious 110-130 calorie snack (again, can't remember the calories on the pudding).
That's all I got. If there's something in particular you are looking for, let me know...I'm pretty much the queen of 100 calorie 'meals' and snacks.
EDIT: It's 80 cals on the pudding. :)
I like Quaker plain brown rice cakes - 35 calories, spread with a tablespoon of fruit spread - 35 calories.
Jello pudding cups can be as low as 60 calories, or you can have the 100 calorie kind. They satisfy chocolate cravings too.
A small container of yogurt - 60 to 80 calories! Read the labels though. Some kinds are remarkably high in sugar calories.
A glass of skim milk - 80 calories, and it provides protein to keep you from feeling hungry
2 thin slices (1 oz) of deli turkey breast - about 45 calories.
Just wanted to say it's ok to eat before bed if it's in your calorie allowance, and not a 5 course meal :)
some of my end of the day snacks are:
yogurt
tbsp of peanut butter
cottage cheese
rice cakes (I get the white cheddar flavour, was only 5cals more than plain :))
fruit like apple, banana, or clementines
salad, or veggies with dip (I just use low cal salad dressing)
mmm can't think of anything else wiithin that calorie range right now.
my favorite under 100 cal snack/meals:
1 pc. extra sour rye bread (cut in 2), with 1 thin slice of ham, about 1/4 c. of alfalfa sprouts and a squirt of mustard - about 95 calories
satsumas - 25 calories each
peach celestial seasonings zingers to go with 8 oz water and juice of half a lemon, frozen and crushed in blender - about 6 calories
sugar free jello black cherry - 10 calories
bin bin rice crackers (1 sachet/2 crackers) - 43 calories
chinese spinach & rice soup: 8oz chicken broth, 1/4 c. yu choy (chinese spinach) and 1/4 c. brown rice - 95 calories
1/2 c cornflakes & 1/4 c skim milk - 70 calories
sunsweet ones (dried prunes) - 25 calories each
2 c green salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, sprouts), 1/2 T bacos, 2 T fat free ranch - about 65 calories
1/2 c baked sweet potato chunks - 90 calories
6 large shrimp (boiled or steamed) & 2 T cocktail sauce - about 70 calories
7-11 crystal light slurpee (small) - 80 calories
There are tons more that I've discovered since I like to eat every hour or so...By keeping them at about 100 calories, I end up eating about 12-14 times a day. :o)
Oddly enough my grandmother just gave me a pull-out from the 2007 October issue of AARP (written by Mike Klesius...have to give credit where credit is due) that is a guide to 50 calorie snacks because she knows how much I watch what I eat. They are also categorized. So, here they are: ![]()

I like to buy pumpernickle bread from a German deli, ( it comes in a long little loaf with slices about 2 inches square) 3 slices are 80 calories. I then make a little sandwich with a thin slice of extra lean ham folded in four to make it fit on the bread. and a wedge of laughing cow lite cream cheese and a slice of dill pickle. All of it is less than 100 calories. It's really tasty and filling and the fibre in the bread is very satisfying. You can have a couple with a greeen salad for a very healthy low cal lunch.
bread -2 slices -52 calories
ham- 20 calories
laughing cow lite cream cheese- 20 calories
pickle -5 calories (or less)
1 container of Fage 0% greek yogurt with 1/2 cup frozen peaches ( definitely need to sweeten the yogurt)
slice apple and place in microwave for 1:15 minutes with cinnamon
put an assortment of sliced mushrooms, carrots, celery, tomatoes on a plate with a wedge of light laughing cow cheese
1 LTF tortilla with 3 slices of oscar mayer thin sliced deli meat, add mustard, lettuce, some tomato, onion, mushroom for little to no extra cals
make a small salad!
