Snacks - using peaches

Quote  |  Reply
I have a big jar of canned peaches in juice and am kinda sick of oatmeal and peaches, hot peaches with oats and plain peaches. Oh and frozen peaches. Anyone got any good ideas?

I'd prefer non-dairy ones as I'm on the IBS diet, so its gotta be low fat, not too high in insoluable fibre (skins of fruit, bran etc, but oats is ok) but post any ideas here for everyone. Peaches are cheap and versatile. I live in a dorm so only have a microwave, toaster oven (which I sneakily use) and a toaster.

You could heat the peaches up and mix them into soy yoghurt or cereal etc...

How about peaches on toast or on a bagel??

Fruit can be used well in baking e.g peach instead of sugar

Hope i helped

Pop the peaches in a microwave until they're liquidy. Then use as a syrup relacement for healthy french toast. Or, use as a jam replacement on toast, english muffin, or bagel.

Do you have any other fruits you could mix it with? Make a fruit salad or a fruit smoothie.
Well you could make a peach soup, if you get more fruit you can make a peach salsa, or a microwave peach cobbler, which I sure you can make healthier.
Wow, thanks for that. I might try the salsa. I am limted to other fruits. i tried a smoothie and it wasnt that nice (banana, mango which i love but they tasted odd without yogurt) Can you really use it instead of sugar? Like a cup of sugar for a cup of blended up peaches or something?
Yeah you can,the natural sugars in the fruit taste IMO opinion much better and fresher/less proccessed.I used peaches instead of sugar however, you could use a mix of both sugar and fruit.

Try it :) Its goood
I SO will next time I bake. I love the taste of fruit!

If you're looking for something really low-cal, you could mix peaches in with some sugar free jello.  Just mix them in when you make it, stick it in the fridge for awhile, and voila.  It's really good for dessert if you add a little Cool Whip on the top!  Mmm!

Bowl of Sliced Peaches (Microwaved a bit and sweetened if you like)

Plain Yogurt

Granola

Honey to drizzle on top

Add other fruits as you like.

Yum-Yum.
